Sloan has definitely been the biggest offender of poorly timed/worded auto emails.

"News from MIT Sloan" is probably the worst possible email subject for MBA applicants waiting for a decision.

I believe they review someone's entire app (essays, stats, recs, linkedin page, etc.) all at once within like 15 minutes, score it, and then push it down the pipe or reject. I highly doubt they decide waitlist candidates before reviewing someone's optional essay and even if they did, I assume they would wait to view the essay until after round 1 interviews - they seem pretty busy at the moment. Pure conjecture but trying to stay positive!

I would imagine they review someone's entire app early on including the optional video before they determine if someone is a borderline case, but I may be completely wrong. Guess we'll just have to wait and see! Best of luck to everyone!

Well I had two views within a span of 12 hrs from Brookline,MA on 25th Oct which is within 5 miles of MIT. It was a weekend and someone reviewed it from an iOS. Just an hour back I got a view from Cambridge,MA which is within 2 miles of MIT. However, this is from a windows pc. I guess they are taking some final calls for selection/rejection. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I agree with you. There should be one final batch of invites left.
I think they do want to interview someone, but hold it until finish reading all apps and send altogether.

I got 5 views on my video essay today... this seems strange.

Well, I think a ding is gonna come sooner or later, since all the Brazilians were invited last week and Admissions would not be in Sao Paulo for 2 weeks, I guess.

Obviously you haven't visited campus. MIT is in Cambridge. The view was probably from an MIT computer. :wink:

How come? did they not ask you many questions? That's definitely on the short side...I think avg is 30 mins...but again I can't say if it's good or bad.
