For those of you here because you're applying to Stanford GSB's awesome Deferred Enrollment Program (for college seniors and those in their last year of a post-college grad program), I've written up these two important articles to help you out and give you inspiration:

The “Optionality” of Business School: How deferred admissions MBA programs can make you rich

The Best MBA Deferred Admissions Programs (to apply to when still in college)

Do folks have an estimate as to the magnitude of applications submitted in R2? (just trying to roughly calculate % chance given they suggest 1000 interviews)

Does anyone know when the R2 invites will start going out?

It looks like R1 interviews were sent from Oct 16 to Nov 14, so I'm assuming that R2 interviews might start going out on Feb 8. But I'm not too sure since R1's applications are reviewed for nearly 3 months (Sep 19 to Dec 14) as opposed to R2 applications which are reviewed for only two and half months (Jan 10 to Mar 29).

Would appreciate some insights into this.

Looking at the previous year's thread, I was able to find out that about 350 to 400 invites will be sent this round. That makes it roughly 10-15 invites every day, considering homogeneous distribution over the entire month, which may or may not be true. Additionally, this averages about 3 international invites a day.

Awesome! Thanks for the confirmation, diverboy1988. I totally missed the email. I do believe they meant 1000 interviews for the entire application year, and not just for R2 though. From last year's threads, it looks like 350-400 interviews will be sent out in R2.

You’re right, it says 1,000 interviews per year.

So tomorrow is the first day! Good luck to everyone!
Looking back to previous years’ discussions, people were pretty exhausted by the end of the month of invitations! :-(
