Today’s global economy has two faces: one of exponential growth in developing countries, and the flip side—a voracious ravaging of resources by developed nations. While some business leaders continue to march in step to the “more is better” mantra, others are realizing that business as usual is not sustainable for our planet.

Earth Day may be commemorated officially on only one day of the year, but business schools around the country are using the occasion to show their dedication to tackling issues of climate change and sustainability that are at the core of doing green business.

Here’s what’s going on this week at some of the top MBA programs:
Business Takes the Lead: How Innovation Will Drive Our Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change 2015 Conference, Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School

Fight Less, Collaborate More: How to Solve the World’s Greatest Environmental Challenges, Thursday April 23, 2015, at the Stanford Graduate School of Business

UCLA Anderson School of Management is on day two of its annual Social Innovation Week, which runs April 20-23, 2015. Panelists and speakers will discuss social entrepreneurship, social impact in media and entertainment, corporate social impact and one-for-one models.

UC Berkeley Haas School of Business announced yesterday that the team from the full-time MBA program took first place in the Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge, at Morgan Stanley’s London Headquarters on April 17. The winning team’s investment thesis was about drought mitigation innovation.

University of Michigan Ross School of Business announced today that influential Indian business leader, GV Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman GVK, will be the keynote speaker for Commencement on May 1st, 2015. At the event, he will share his views on the power of positive business, and how it creates a social impact on society.

And finally, Columbia Business School deserves a ‘shout out’ for its great article on the business case for going green.

This is just a sampling of the activities currently taking place on business school campuses, where sustainability and good stewardship are more than just buzz words—they are the very key to long-term economic growth and a better planet for future generations.

Hello, I'm an international student. Unlike other schools, Anderson hasn't send me any email from admission/international student service which would guide me to finish the application (funding eligibility, international transfer, etc). Is it normal?

Well, I am not sure what you are talking about because I did not get any such email, only the usual promotional ones, and a few reminders for completing before deadline. And I applied to a lot of schools. Just saying.......... 8-)

Regarding your queries, Anderson has all info up on their website. I can point you to specific places if you can tell me what you are looking for.

Guess i was doing ok, but somehow felt chemistry was missing in between. Anyway, best of luck to you guys who's going to interview, and hope I could hear good news back soon as i can. Go Anderson!

Congrats! Have you already sent your official transcripts to them? Did they indicate how long it might be before you hear back?

Yes i handed in those hard copies in person yesterday and it's been reflected in system today.
They just say they will feedback the interview within 48 hours to school, but they dont really know the rest admission process.

When is your interview?

Just had mine last week as well. I mailed in my transcripts previously but the site doesn't seem to have been updated (or else I'm not seeing it). Do they send you a message or on which part of the application page did it show up? Good Luck!

Thanks, to you both. I'm also curious, where does one see if their transcripts have been officially received?

I couldn't see it anywhere so I just called them today and they say that they've received them.

I had my interview tonight and I though it went well. It was via Skype with an admissions officer. One interesting thing was when I asked her if there would be any early admissions she seemed non committal, but she did say there was a chance. Who knows what that means.

Had my interview yesterday night IST via skype. I was interviewed by a 2nd year student. The interviewer was one of the friendliest persons you could ever meet and I was really impressed by how conversational the interview was. It basically covered all the usual suspects, why mba, leadership xp, extra curriculars etc. Judging by his enthusiasm, Anderson would be THE place to be. Anyway, my interview lasted exactly 30 mins. More or less an OK interview I guess. Fingers Crossed. :| :|

Does anyone know what the last day would be to get interviews? Are they prerequisites to admission or may some get admitted without an interview?

Definitely need an interview to get admitted. Not sure that there is a last day

Not sure if you mean how many choices of dates or how much time between the invite and the interview, but the answer is still "it depends". Some people in this thread even found that all the skype dates were booked and had to email admissions, so it's really impossible to say.

Do the transcripts have to reach them in 30 days? Because I think there will be a delay in sending my transcripts to them.
