Explain how your professional experience has shaped these goals, why this career option appeals to you, and how you arrived at the decision that now is the time and the MBA is the appropriate degree. Additionally, please briefly address a backup plan should your short-term goal not come to fruition for any reason. (500 words maximum) 2. Essay Two (Optional) What personal qualities or life experiences distinguish you from other applicants? How do these qualities or experiences equip you to contribute to UNC Kenan-Flagler? (300 words maximum) 3. Essay Three (Optional) If your standardized test scores are low, or if you have not had coursework in core business subjects (calculus, microeconomics, statistics, financial accounting), please tell us how you plan to prepare yourself for the quantitative rigor of the MBA curriculum. Please help me clear this. if the decision deadline date is Jan 29, 2018. Does that mean You should hear one of the following from the Adcom about your status ? Wait Listed W/o interview or Interview Invite (however if the adcom releases an invite on Jan 29, they possibly cannot give a decision before the decision notification date ) Rejected or accepted (of course the interview would have been conducted by then) or Wait listed after interview Am I missing something here? KM

I got my R3 interview invite on Jan 9! I was pleasantly surprised since it was well before the actual application. I'm Skype interviewing next week. Hopefully others are coming through soon.

I just came back from Dean's reception event here in Bangalore. I met an R2 candidate (4-Dec deadline), who got an interview invite on 12-Jan. Plus, the school mentioned clearly, don't lose hope until you receive a communication to that effect from us. They do keep R2 applications on hold and review them with R3 against the largest and most competitive pool of applications. Hope this clears the confusion for some candidates like me.
