I wonder how the adcoms keep saying rankings don't matter and then feel insecure about their ranking when it comes to yield.
Good luck. This is a positive thing, given they think you will get into a 'bigger' school according to them, you might so or end up with a really good scholarship in darden. Make sure you give specific to the point reason in why darden assignment.

Just done with the feedback call. In a nutshell similar reason of Dark_Horse for putting me on waitlist.
She was very nice and friendly. She kept on saying my profile is one of the strongest and I would get into top b-school. She told me to answer 2 essays.
1. Why Darden?
2. Expand more about my career goals and how I plan to achieve them and how flexible am I with post-MBA job geography (given that I am an international applicant and the current political situation of US).
I don't even know how to take this. I am answering the essays with all my heart and leaving it to god.

I really believe that them mentioning that I have a strong profile to get in better schools is a load of bull crap. Why you may ask? If they really believed that I am that good, they would have admitted me and offered me a scholarship dough good enough that would make me think ten times before turning them down. But they didn't. So that just means these were hollow words and have no other purpose except may be pacification.
