1) Has anyone heard anything as to when Kellogg will give an update to R1 waitlisters? I know that they said "soon" after each round's release date, but not sure what they're waiting for now that R2 decisions have been made.
2)Do they ever admit R1 waitlist candidates at this point, or just deny/further waitlist?
3) Any advice on whether it will damage my case if I reach out to them to ask, given a 4/1 deposit deadline to another program? If admitted to Kellogg, would still attend regardless of money sunk on the other deposit.

I'm on the waitlist from R2, but the letter said you'd get an update a few days after the following round's decision.

Yeah. Was told to expect a notification regarding my status by 4/4. I'm waitlisted from R1 though (not R2)

Where did you hear the 4/4 date from? I am a R1 WL as well and haven't heard anything at all.

So I've seen some people quote "by" 4/4, and some quote "on" 4/4...is tomorrow the day? I know it's minutiae; waiting is the worst.

Yeah, not looking forward to the continued wait. I always hear stories of people being accepted from the waitlist a week or two prior to the quarter starting.

I was wondering if the wait list confirmation email was actually a status update. If it wasn't are the R1 wait lists going to hear about their status anytime soon?

the deposit deadline for R2 is this week.. which means there's a chance that adcom will be reaching out to some candidates for more information/to discuss candidacy between then and the round 3 decision date of May 11.

You are correct. Most of the schools see an increase in the WL post tuition deposit deadlines. R2 tuition deposit deadline is April 28.

according to last year's thread, people who were admitted off waitlist with round 2 & 3 had calls with adcom the week before

I received a call from my WL manager today to discuss candidacy. They wanted to hear what I'd been up to and see how Kellogg fit into my plans and did not not give an exact date for when waitlisters would receive a decision (ie didn't say May 11). I'm not in the business of reading tea leaves and my expectations are low for acceptance, but thought it would be helpful to share. Hang in there!

I received a call on April 22 and I was asked to talk about my plans and my back up plan in case I could not get a job offer in my desired industry.
The person of the AdCom also told me that they was going to wait to observe how the class was going to be shaped after the deposit deadline of April 28. I still optimistic and I hope we could get good news soon. I hope this information could help to some of you.
