And another question. When/how do we find out what the prompt is?

Thanks!

Dinged ! Like other people I saw my decision letter in the portal.

Noidea1234 and YumBeeA : I think that it's actually a good sign if you don't see anything in the portal. Hang in there !

Good luck to all !

You were right. Invited. Second time in a row. Hope I will be lucky second time. It has been a really painful 1.5 years. All the best to all here.

Good luck for your interviews. It takes great courage to keep trying! Hope you get your admit this time.

To those who are in the US, do we have to interview on-campus only? or do we have the option to pick the SFO location instead? Thanks

You can pick SFO location as well but the hub cities slots usually get filled earlier. So make sure you get your registration done soon enough.

Good luck.

It just seems like 30+ is automatic rejection. I am in the same boat (33 years old). Got ding from CBS, HBS, and Wharton.

Not necessarily. With older than the school average applicants, you need to work that much more in bringing to the fore your actual motivations and goals for pursuing an MBA compared to other candidates. As tohin mentioned above, dont let age deter you from your MBA goal. Just reflect a bit more on your reasons for pursuing a FT 2Y MBA instead of an EMBA or a Part time option? Only once you can convince yourself , you will be able to do the same with the adcoms.

It will be in the email that you get after you register yourself for a TBD+PI slot by following the link sent in your interview invitation email sent by Wharton admissions.

Congratulations to everyone who received an interview invite yesterday. I am looking to arrange a mock interview TBD with potential candidates. If any of you are interested, please PM me. I think it is value added to do mock interviews with students who are in the interview stage of their application stage :)

I personally took mbamission and stacy blackman's mock TBDs and they were of great help to understand how to provide your thoughts in a coherent form, how to interject and be a part of the group and how to respect other viewpoints.

Good luck to all those invited for interviews.

Hi Engr2012. One small edit again... Our name was spelled incorrectly.
In any case, thanks for the mention.

It just seems like 30+ is automatic rejection. I am in the same boat (33 years old). Got ding from CBS, HBS, and Wharton.

I don't intend to sound contrary, but wanted to give at least a little hope to 30+ candidates: I'm 34 (will be 35 at time of matriculation) and have been invited to interview. Anecdotal evidence tells me that HBS, Wharton and GSB all shy away from 30+ candidates, but I hope to be the exception to that. I assumed I would get the ding from Wharton and am still stunned I was invited (I didn't even flinch when I saw the ding from HBS). I woke up this morning convinced that Wharton made a mistake and any minute now I will get an email telling me my interview has been cancelled.

I guess it just goes to show that there is no crystal ball that will tell us how this process will shake out.

Best of luck to everyone, especially my fellow old geezers. Perhaps we can form our own B-school inside the rest home. (Hearing aids for everyone! Midday naptime! All-you-can-eat Jello!)

Cheers,
Crucial

This is awesome news. I got the ding but am happy to see that someone from the 30+ group is seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Gives me some hope and a reason to reapply (I am 33).

I wish you all the best and hope that you manage to change the B-school perspective that 30+ are "old bread".

Thanks for the kind words! I'm not sure that I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel just yet -- it feels like more tunnel (but better than a brick wall). Honestly, I think I don't stand a chance, but I will give it every effort. I definitely think it is worth re-applying if you can identify areas in your application you can improve.

Hmm... so you're saying I shouldn't wear an AARP cardigan to the interview? ;-)
