Hi everyone,

I am aiming for the R2 application deadline. I am quite worried about my low GRE score, so expecting your valued insights on my "overall fit" to the Yale MBA program. Here is my profile,

Location: Bangladesh
Work Experience: 4+ years at a non-profit market development project, designing inclusive business models with private companies to improve 2 agricultural value chains.
GRE: 308 (Q158, V150)
CGPA: 3.20 out of 4 (Marketing and Finance)
Extracurricular activities in college: led the cultural club activities in college, won 2 business case competitions.
Other activities: Implementing various community development projects for the underprivileged in urban slums through a pro-bono community development organization.

Looking forward hear from you guys.

You seem to be a SOM "type" with your background and interests, but the academics also matter. Can you retake the GRE (or take the GMAT instead)? Your GRE score correlates to about a 560 GMAT, which almost always gets rejected (I don't have GRE data, but the last intake of 300+ SOM students had a GMAT 620 as the minimum). I did a campus visit at SOM and one of the admissions officers said they like to see at least 70% percentile in both quant and verbal GMAT subscores, but the GRE is easier, so you would need to get the GRE V up to at least 158-160 and the GRE Q to about 163-165 to be competitive.

Where did you go to college? US or a different country?

Hi All,

Can someone please help me understand what Yale means by the following question -
If you have a graduate degree, how, if at all, does pursuing an MBA relate to your previous graduate studies?

I have a bachelor in engineering.

I think they are specifically talking about grad school (masters / PhD / etc.) your bachelors is an undergraduate degree.

You don't have to write anything if there is nothing. I went to a campus visit, and Margie said that the optional essay is "truly optional." I wrote mine about the choice of recommenders, but wouldn't have had anything to write if that wasn't relevant.

I thought the video questions were a bit more hardball than Kellogg, but that's because Kellogg really only asks you one unexpected question and it's a fun one.

Are we required to complete these video ques immediately after submitting or there is some time, say day or two?

R2 deadline for video submissions is January 14th, no matter when you submit the application.
