What from I can gather, it seems the invitations are sent out in waves, with about 2 weeks in between. I also don't think the international students get their invitations until the second wave.

Congratulations to fellow applicants with invitations.

Those who have yet to receive theirs, focus on what you do in life, enjoy time spent with your family and friends, go do what you enjoy and take your mind off of this issue. Though don't forget to practice for the interview when it does come!

Constantly refreshing your email inbox is tempting, but it's also very unhealthy.

Hi Wilch, this is what I've heard too. However I'm a international applicant (French) and I've got my invitation yesterday.

Hi Wilch, this is what I've heard too. However I'm a international applicant (French) and I've got my invitation yesterday.

In that case, I stand corrected.

I don't think it's possible for the Adcoms to go through all 2,000~3,000 applications in merely one week.

My guess is they do these reviews for comparable areas (US, Europe) and move on to the next batch (Asia Pacific, South Asia), etc.

I think it was specifically the Indian applicants who did not receive their invitations in R1 - but I could be wrong since this is based completely on hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt.

Also, congratulations on your invitation, and good luck. Practice lots and take deep breaths.

Have no clue how this process works.

Wow. Yale is working fast with these applications. Is there any rhyme or reason to the order? I still want hope. :)

I can't stop refreshing! :x It's like an addiction, I always end up at my inbox and fingers naturally hit refresh - it's like breathing. My hands start to twitch and I get a rush everytime

As best I can tell, they're handing out interview invites to international applicants first.

Rejected at Yale SOM via email.
GPA: 3.74 GMAT: 770 Round: Round 1 | Houston, TX

-----------------------------------------------

It's still very early. Apps were just due last week and videos were only due a few days ago. I wouldn't panic just yet.

Assuming that submission wasn't a mistake or flat out troll job by someone who wants to mess with other people's heads - that person may have been rejected due to something entirely irrelevant to his GPA and GMAT score.

my partner and I are kinda standing in a very vulnerable pool. We're kinda too old, 33 and 35--I went to school early so I actually would work 13 yrs at matriculation

we neither have any financial background. I graduated from NYU Tisch, he a Chinese university though it is the best of its kind. guess tisch has a tricky gpa system and that was how lady gaga graduated and i scored 3.84. though it would be like 3-3.2

i landed my current job with state department but it has nothing to do with the paper Tisch offered. otherwise id been waitin on table professionally and auditin in between shifts

he was stellar and recruited by the Chinese government, serving as a diplomat working around the world. So literally no financial background either

I guess too old and too novice in biz would be our app killer

If you succinctly explained your reasons for needing an MBA, the Adcoms will take those into consideration.

Yale isn't the only school I'm applying to, and I feel like these introspections have helped significantly. If I learned anything from this whole process, it's that with a set of goals and directions, the MBA is only a means to an end, and you should be able to achieve what you want to do without it. You should approach it as one of your options, not the only road.

Now that your application was submitted, the fate of this outcome is no longer in your hands. Since your partner presumably speaks Chinese, have him walk you through the concept of this:

Lighten up, prepare your interview stories, enjoy life and keep doing what you're doing :)
