Has anyone from R2 received a rejection so far or is everyone's status, apart from the invitees, still "Submitted"?

guess they'll wait until the deadline to send out the rejection

Does anyone know if more invites are coming out for R2 or if this is it?

Yale reserves the opportunity to invite people DAY OF for (skype) interviews. That's unusual, but right now it's early.

I think Yale has been sending out batches of invites every two weeks or so (on, say, every other Wednesday).

As an exercise, let's say Yale has 50% yield for their class of 320 people, therefore 640 accepted students. I think their recent yield has been going up from mid 40% to low 50%.

Let's also assume they accept 60% of their interviewed applicants, which gives about 1060 invites total across 3 rounds (assuming the same acceptance rate all across 3 rounds).

Now I quote: Typically, Yale’s Round 2 generates the most applications, with Round 1 bringing in about half as many, and Round 3 netting half the number of Round 1, DelMonico says. from https://poetsandquants.com/2015/02/02/mb ... yale-ross/ but this article also mentions how in 2014-15 cycle, R1 saw 10% increase in applicants and R2 saw 36% increase in applicants. It is possible there are also noticeable increases in apps this year.

In any case, dividing up the 1060 invites across 3 rounds gives ~300 invites for R1, ~600 invites for R2 and ~150 invites for R3.

I'd guess of those, only ~5% of those people post online (for example, ~15 invites posted for this cycle's R1). I currently see ~13 invites for R2 which could mean that about ~260 invites for R2 have been sent out already. So the adcom is through slightly more than a third of the apps for this round already.

I am making so many assumptions here, so please take this with a grain of salt!

Do you know (roughly) how many applications Yale SOM gets total? Somewhere between 2,000-3,000? (Wharton got about 6,500 applications last year, and I assume that that is much higher than Yale's).

I remember reading there were about 2700 apps last cycle with accept rate of 23%. Seeing yales recent performance id guess it may surpass the 3000 mark this year.

So, about 1/3 of applicants will get an interview, and roughly 60% of them will be accepted, half of whom will matriculate. It's that first one I'm most interested in right now - have to be in the top/most interesting third of the applicant pool to get invited!

That's some really interesting math you did! Thanks for clarifying things up for me!

By the way I will be interviewing in London on March 3rd, is any GMAT clubber going there too?

I applied through the Consortium, so not sure if the process differs from everyone else but I got an interview invite on Wednesday 1/20. :)

I also noticed someone had written that their application status still says awaiting GMAT scores, again mine might be different since I went through the Consortium, but my application status still says awaiting GMAT score. Hope this helps and best of luck to everyone!

I received an interview invite at 8pm ET on January 21st. I can only schedule an interview for the month of February on the interview scheduler (which I'm assuming means they're submitting invites as people schedule interviews, and they haven't submitted invites for people who will end up interviewing in March).

EDIT: removed inaccurate information.

I'm 99% sure that is not how it works. SOM evaluates holistically. it's much more likely that they review by region or some sort of segment (for example, Chinese applicants or ones from IB).

I think they did internationals first, and internationals (especially form India and China) tend to have higher GMAT scores.
