By, does anyone know how many interview invites are sent for all 3 rounds? Thanks!
As an exercise, let's say Yale has 50% yield for their class of 320 people, therefore 640 accepted students. I think their recent yield has been going up from mid 40% to low 50%.
Let's also assume they accept 60% of their interviewed applicants, which gives about 1060 invites total across 3 rounds (assuming the same acceptance rate all across 3 rounds).
Now I quote: Typically, Yale’s Round 2 generates the most applications, with Round 1 bringing in about half as many, and Round 3 netting half the number of Round 1, DelMonico says. from
https://poetsandquants.com/2015/02/02/mb ... yale-ross/ but this article also mentions how in 2014-15 cycle, R1 saw 10% increase in applicants and R2 saw 36% increase in applicants. It is possible there are also noticeable increases in apps this year.
In any case, dividing up the 1060 invites across 3 rounds gives ~300 invites for R1, ~600 invites for R2 and ~150 invites for R3.
I'd guess of those, only ~5% of those people post online (for example, ~15 invites posted for this cycle's R1). I currently see ~13 invites for R2 which could mean that about ~260 invites for R2 have been sent out already. So the adcom is through slightly more than a third of the apps for this round already.
I am making so many assumptions here, so please take this with a grain of salt!
