Looking at all the parameters being discussed here, i am not liking my odds here. Cant take the pressure anymore.. Going underground..

I'm 99% sure that is not how it works. SOM evaluates holistically. it's much more likely that they review by region or some sort of segment (for example, Chinese applicants or ones from IB).

I think they did internationals first, and internationals (especially form India and China) tend to have higher GMAT scores.

No worries! It's still early, guys!

I was fortunate and got my invite sort of early (1/14). However, if I had to postulate, I don't think it's necessarily a geographic thing (based in the US), so there's still hope! I think it might be a FIFO concept (First In, First Out). I submitted my application a few days before the deadline, so I'm thinking they had more time to review my application and render a decision before the onslaught of apps on deadline day. Hope that helps, and wishing you the best of luck!

Has anybody got an invite through GRE?

I applied to Ross and no interview invite : WL / Rejected.
Yale: no news yet and
Tuck has 'still awaiting gre/gmat scores, dont worry the status will change once we start processing your application'.

Now I am kinda worried that it really is disadvantageous if one is applying through GRE... Any inputs?

Unfortunately, your hypothesis of invites being extended in a FIFO manner is wrong.. I submitted my written app on the day of deadline and video interview the night before it was due. I'm an international student in the US and was invited on the 14th as well.

Well, shoot. Just more evidence that we should trust the process. There's a method to the madness, and I sincerely believe that it's still too early to write off Yale.

Either way, good luck with your interview, fakename! :)

I have done a lot of research on this because I am also applying to the foresty school and would rather do just one test. The most recent things I have read on this topic is if the schools says they don't have a preference, then they don't. They will tell you if they do. Schools might wonder why you took the GRE over GMAT, but that is about it. However, they don't really have anything to base the GRE off of or past years to compare it to, so they just use the ETS score converter and go from there.

Other people could have heard different, but that was the most recent information I have read.

It is interesting though. Since it's definitely not FIFO, it's something else (geography/country and/or scores?).
In any case, thanks! Good luck to you as well!!

Still anxiously awaiting an interview invite!

From what I can gather, it looks like there was a big wave right around 1/14, and a few others trickling out since then? Think we'll see another wave or is it just sporadic invitations from here on out?

The idea of them going through that many applications submitted on the 7th is mind-boggling to me, so I'm optimistically hoping that they just hadn't read mine yet...

Any more invites for Indian applicants?
In last year's thread, I saw that invites for Indian applicants went out on 11th Feb.
Does weather have any effect (since it's a really bad weather in NY nowadays)?

Any updates anyone?

Yes thats the same thing i came across while attending all the Admission webinars. Lets see what happens. Yesterday itself I got a mail from Tuck that my file has been sent to an Adcom member. So Im still counting my horses with Yale as well that they might not have yet processed my file... Anyway..fingers crossed lets see! Thanks for the input!

Just an FYI - I was one of the people who go their invite on 1/14, but I also submitted my application/video questions quite early (1/1). Perhaps if you waiting until the deadlines the AdCom is still reviewing your materials?

I got an invite on 14th itself. I submitted my application on the 7th and then the video questions on 14th morning. Got the invite by the night.
I am from India with a GRE score of 334. (Someone asked if anyone cleared with GRE)

If you take a look at this thread last year, invites went out through the first two weeks of February

I got in to SOM with a GRE, and I know a few other people who did too. If you add the joint-degree students (15% of the population), we probably have lots of people with GRE who got in. So I don't think it matters at SOM :)
