One thing I have found works for getting myself to do something that I having trouble bringing myself to do is to decide to do just a little bit, such as 15 minutes of studying.

You can always bring yourself to study for 15 minutes, and if you start to study for 15 minutes, then you'll likely keep going for longer than 15 minutes. Also, even if you don't go beyond 15 minutes the first time you get back to studying, you will have broken the ice and started to get back into the habit of preparing for the GMAT.

Hi

I have been trying to study but I have not been able to pick up a book in past 30 days. Some days it was due to some issues at work and home and on other days i didnt feel like it. Kindly suggest some ways so that i can get back on track.

Also how to cultivate discipline. I work in shifts, so normal ways dont work. Every week my shift changes, then i have to make new plans but by the time i get used to the plan, new shift arrives. In graveyard shift, i cant study at all, as people keep disturbing my sleep in the day and i feel drowsy all day long.

kindly suggest what to do

thanks

Hi,
I work in shifts, am 36 years old, and have an non verbal autistic daughter who is starting her school and facing challenges on daily basis. If I can do it, anyone can. Only thing going for me was unwavering support from my better half during these 4 months of preparation(December 2021-March 2022). Even I had week long breaks twice. Had severe fever just 5 days before my GMAT Online. But made sure that I studied always, except when i could not. During night shifts I used to solve problems on GMAT Club, TTP and Magoosh on my mobile(as far as my duties allowed without disturbing the work environment). Also used to study 4pm to 9 pm in night shifts(My night shift is from 10 pm to 6:30 in the morning). Duty hour studies was much more limited in A(6am-2:30pm) and B(2pm-10:30pm) as could only solve on mobile(leaving much less scope for maths study). At home, I studied from 6 pm -11 pm in A shifts and 9 am to 1 pm in B shifts. Had to leave everything else for these 4 months. As I love studying, I actually enjoyed the preparations. Find your motivation and make it compulsory to ignore everything and make time for studies. If it worked for me, it will work for you too.
