Will the current war situation effect mba admissions, specially in Europe?
This is an interesting question. It seems like there's a lot of anxiety around the current war situation and how it will affect MBA admissions, particularly in Europe. The war has certainly created a lot of economic uncertainty, and markets around the world are riled.
A lot of what happens next will depend on how long the war goes, and what kind of stalemate or conclusion is ultimately arrived at. If a compromise is reached soon, and the sanctions and cross-sanctions don't seem to impact oil prices and economies too much, the overall impact may not be too much. If the war stretches on, the European economy will certainly continue to be adversely impacted, and the global economy too. In that case, MBA admissions may become more competitive, as they did during COVID.
In general, however, the situation in the Ukraine has had a minimal impact on most schools, since they are located well away from the area where conflict is taking place, and because those countries aren't (so far) major players in the conflict, apart from of course being a part of the EU.
The best thing you can do is focus on your own application and your own preparation. Don't worry about factors outside of your control and concentrate on things that you can control, like making sure you have a great GMAT score and a good resume.
