I have a feeling that GMAC will drop this note-taking restriction and allow the erasable whiteboard.

It just doesn't make sense at all. I'm still shocked how they have come up with this decision. It's virtually impossible to go through quant section without proper, fast, and easy note taking.
I just tried a medium question with touchscreen whiteboard and think it's just impossible to go through 31 questions under real exam timing pressure. I've been constantly getting 50-51 in Quant but with this note taking technique I think my score could easily drop to ~40.

Uh that onscreen whiteboard makes no sense! No way of completing all the questions in the given time.

I think we are neglecting the benefit of skillfully drawing shapes and coloring them in with different shades. I expect geometry sub-section scores to sky rocket!

Sure, with the mousepad or the mouse we will do amazing figures.

Serious question, I just got a gaming mouse that I can program macros to, would be possible to know where the buttons will be in order to program the "Next" and "Confirm" clicking and save some seconds? Any idea? (maybe programming also the drawing of nice geometrical figures?

You do need to nail a question correctly not to draw the Sistina Chapel.

They can't be serious with this "online whiteboard" bs. Why not just have everyone buy the same spec'd whiteboard and dry erase pens that testing centers use, and include an inspection of those as part of the room scan.

Sorry for the silly question, but could it be possible in a software for proctored exams?

I think that all the whiteboard thing is unacceptable.

Come on, how do they expect you to do equations, simplifications, divisions, multiplications, etc. For example, imagine how much time and visual consuming would be to write the square root symbol (SQRT each time?). Unbelievable.

At the very least they should give you access to a "practice" whiteboard so you get used to it.

Very unhappy with the GMAC.

I think it could be possible but I don’t know that it’s such a big game changer.... but I can definitely see a difference in experience based on different Internet speeds and screen sizes and other variables....

Will writing tablets (such as Wacom, used by Khan Academy etc.) be disqualified as a writing instrument? See test environment instructions:

"not within arm’s reach of ...other writing instruments/objects"

This seems to be the only way to reasonably mimic actual writing unless users have laptops with touch screens. If writing tablets were banned, then those with the touch screen laptops would have a significant advantage.
