Hi,
This will be long.
I took my GMAT last week and was in complete shock to realise that I could muster only a 650. I had given four of the official GMAT preps and had scored 730, 710, 700 and 710, respectively. I had been receiving in-class training from a renowned coaching centre and had solved multiple full-length tests on their portal, only once scoring below a 700, a 680. My score in quant ranged from 46-49 and that in verbal was always 40/41. While I was never great at quant, I considered verbal to be my saving factor. On the day of the actual exam, however, I scored a 44 on quant and 37 in verbal, which left me dumbfounded.
I can still not comprehend what went wrong. Even while taking the test I knew I had messed up quant, but not quite to this extent. As for verbal, I had expected a much better score, thinking I had performed decently.
Of course, there must have been a lack of preparation at my part or some other reason that pertains exclusively to my performance, since there was no external factor that I can think of. I did get to sleep only 4 hours the night before but I’m accustomed to waking up early on small hours of sleep and didn’t feel groggy or drowsy on the test day either.
According to my ESR, it was RC which brought my score down in Verbal, and Ratios, Number System and basic Arithmetic in quant.
It’s been over a week now and I’m trying to cover as many practice questions as I can to fix the loopholes but I feel it’s just not enough. I still miss out on very minute details and time management is still an issue in quant. I somehow have started performing even worse on quant. I took another of these online-portal tests yesterday and got a 670.
My target score is at least a 720 since I want to join the MiM program at a top European B-School. I’m afraid my performance and the subsequent lack of conviction in my current preparation is making even a 720 seem too far-fetched to me.
What kind of a study plan should i follow? What kind of books/material? Should I make flashcards or employ some other creative tactic? If so, then what? Were the mock test scores flukes? Is this an indication that my maximum aptitude is within the 650-670 range?
I’m in an extremely confused state and would appreciate any help whatsoever. I plan to take my second attempt within the next two weeks itself.
Thanking in anticipation.

Hi, Welcome to GMATClub. 650 also is a decent score. However, you have a very good scope to increase your quant score up to 50 if you focus topic wise where you are logging. All the best.
