Hello everyone,
I have attempted all the Mocks from GMAT Prep and my scores are listed below
Test 3 - 710 V36 Q49
Test 4 - 640 V28 Q49
Test 5 - 670 V31 Q49
Test 6 - 720 V40 Q49
However, in the real test which was taken 3 days after Test 6, I got a score of 640 Q48 V28.
I have used the material provided by jamboree,
Official Guide and GMAT Prep Mocks.
I am really not able to figure out how I am supposed to improve. I am also attaching the ESR of the GMAT.
Any valuable insights would be of great help.
Thanks
Hi Gautam,
Unfortunately you are not the only one and I am sure you won't be the last to have gone through this ordeal. In just a period of two weeks, I have seen two close friends, both scoring above 720 in mocks, landing up at a 650 and a 660 in the real test.
The main reasons that we could ascertain are these:
1. Exam nerves + Time pressure + Unfamiliarity with the real test situation
2. Trying too hard to break into a "very high score". When you do that, you stop doing stuff that got you that score in mock and given the unforgiving nature of the GMAT exam, once you get one or two easy questions wrong the 700+ score is out of the picture.
3. Wasting too much time on question types that you have not seen before. Maybe they are experimental questions or maybe they are not. You simply can not get stuck on one question type and get yourself into a time crunch. This often acts as a precursor to the onset of a panic situation.
If you suffered from the same, you may try finding a way out of it. And if you do that, I am sure you will be able to replicate your mock scores in the real test.

Nikhil
