Hi There,
Has anybody managed to combine part-time job and full-time MBA?
How much time study takes per day/week?

Thanks in advance!

It is almost impossible to have part job in first year because of the hectic schedule. But I know some students who accepted positions inside the school for some professors during their second year. I do not recall anyone who has part time job after school even in second year.

As an international applicant, I was able to work up to 20 hrs/week but I believe I was limited to only working on campus. I believe the rule is still the same - you can work up to 20 hrs but only on campus during your first year. The pay is usually not I think you can apply for a hardship or special exemption to allow you working off-campus or doing something as an internship. However, all are harder to pull off due to the time you have available and your opportunity cost.

For example, would you rather work making $20/hr or search for a job that may earn $50/hr?

I ended up working my second semester about 20 hrs/week as a front desk manager at a local hotel to help pay the bills - was still my favorite job I ever had. The team was great. Work easy and I was getting free food as a part of the deal. However, it made it really hard to focus on being able to study and look for a real job. I ended up working for a few months after graduation and still had no full time job offer. I ended up quitting (which everyone thought was crazy) and once I quit, I found a full time job within a few weeks.... it is opportunity cost.

I think you can but only for a short term.

I study eight hours a day and work six hours. It's almost unrealistic to combine, but I try. I don't get enough sleep, and when there are no clients at work, I can get some sleep when my co-worker helps me with my homework tests. For the second month now, I've been dreaming of quitting my day job and thinking about side hustle in the form of tutoring. That way, I could combine study and work perfectly, and the schedule would be more comfortable for me. I'm interested in your opinion on this.
