How many integer values are there for x such that 0 < 4x + 8 < 12?

A. 0
B. 1
C. 2
D. 3
E. 4

\(0 < 4x + 8 < 12\)

Subtracting -8 we get \(-8 < 4x < 4\)

Dividing by 4 we get \(-2 < x < 1\)

So \(- 1 & 0\)

Two integers satisfy the given condition (C)

given equation is: 0<4x+8<12
divide by 4 throughout: 0<x+2<3
subtract 2 throughout: -2<x<1

thus the integer values x can take in this range are -1 and 0 i.e 2 values(Ans) :)

Shreya
