I gave my GMAT after months of preparation and got 550.
My score breakup is Q36 V28 and IR 2
I only referred to Magoosh for the last 6 months.

I am now changing my strategy

I am thinking of picking up
SC Grail, Manhattan Books, E-Gmat, PowerScore Bible, OG and OG Verbal Review for Verbal
Manhattan Guides, Maths Revolution, OG and OG Quant Review for Quant

I had a https://gmatclub.com/chat group which I made to assist me during the last 6 months. But after a low score, some people in that group suddenly changed their attitude towards me and sending me obscene messages.
I am thinking of now not joining any https://gmatclub.com/chat group and not even creating another one and only referring to GMATClub for any help in the next 1 months.

Also, I used to study for 8-10 hours a day everyday for the last 6 months.
I am thinking of now studying for 3 hors only on weekdays and 8 hours on the weekend.

Tis time around I am also planning on giving test only once a month and not frequently.
How sound is my plan?

Please assist people...

Hi Mate,

I was in the same boat as you are. To be honest - Magoosh is sufficient, though, it is different for everyone...
The important thing to understand - your weaknesses and how to avoid/overcome them. Until that moment, you will have hard time improving (speaking from personal experience, with 3 attempts 550-560-560).

Hi aayushamj,

In a prior post, you stated that your score goal was 710+ (but that you would 'accept' a 680). Is that still your score goal?

Considering the amount of time that you spent studying, and your Official Score result, the way that you studied before was not effective in helping you to hit your goal. That's important to note because it will take some significant effort to raise a 550 to a 700+ (and that will likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study). Beyond learning and practicing the proper Tactics for BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections, you've likely developed some 'bad habits' during your prior studies that will take time to 'fix' (and replace with new 'good habits'). As such, I think that you would benefit a great deal from investing in a GMAT Course of some type (either Guided Self-Study or instructor-led).

You need to improve both sections. The amount of times is enough.
Focus on your weakness and improve your confidence. You should try to follow a entire new course such as: empower gmat or e-gmat + Manhattan books.

Sorry for hearing about your score. But you need to think deeply if you target high score. Do not forget that there is only 8 tests lifetime. So you can postpone you test to ensure readiness and confidence.

You need to learn from your mistakes and integrate the official sources especially in verbal to ensure high quality material. Use an error long to learn from each question and also to learn why choices are wrong. It is time to integrate strategy while solving questions. All material and sources listed above are excellent.
