Any comments, feelings, advice to share?: It is good to be thorough with your Application/SoP/Your current Industry. Apart from typical MBA questions like Why MBA, Why now, Target Industry and all, I was interviewed on Marketing related questions from Automotive sector. It was totally unexpected but I could survive somehow with my faint knowledge on the same. Also, be honest with Extra-curriculars. In a 15 min interview, I was asked 5 mins on Stock market that I mentioned as hobbies. Do have a smile always and as other mentioned - Keep calm and composed with a smile on your face. You will do great. Good luck.

Total Work Experience : 7 years
Pre-MBA Industry : Healthcare (Dentist)
Target industry post-MBA: Healthcare marketing
Brief about Work Experience : Been a hardcore clinician with focus on restorative and prosthetic dentistry. Managing the Sales and Marketing front of a Dental Products start up, MIK Dental for the last 3 years besides clinical practice. Faculty at Prosthotrain academy and routinely conduct Basic Prosthetic and Restorative Dentistry lectures and workshops at various platforms.

What is your relation to the Recommenders?(Manager. client, etc.): 1. Proprietor of the startup I work for (reported directly to him) 2. Graduate college Teacher
Volunteering/Extra-curriculars: Lots of Oral Health awareness activities and Medical Student welfare work.
International Experience : None
Scholarship Given? : None
The motivation for MBA and why Now brief? : Working for the Dental product company made me realize that being one of the end users myself puts me in a unique place to sell/market a products. My perspective of looking at a commodity will be a lot different in terms of understanding the real problems in field and this approach did give me a lot of initial success but it was the lack management perspective and structured knowledge that plateaued my growth. And hence I decided to pursue management studies to bridge the gap between having clinical knowledge and managerial skills.
Short-Term Goal : Sales/Marketing/maybe strategy role in a Medical devices company.
Long-Term Goal : Since I have worked for a company that sells innovative products designed and patented by Doctors themselves and understand the reasons these startups don't really expand or see profits. They lack of structured management and hence I'd like to work as a start-up Consultant, in the long run, helping brilliant innovators ideate effective business models that will get their ideas rolling with optimal returns in the Healthcare domain.

Did you use the help of an MBA Consultant? : Yes
Any comments, feelings, advice to share?: Just have very very strong reasons and clear goals that resonate with your journey even if you are making a drastic change like I did. Believing in your own story is the most imp thing; the belief and clarity of thoughts during the interview is the key to convincing the adcoms, even if you have a below avg score (like I do). I have friends with a 720-730 GMAT, 2 masters degrees and what not, got rejected at interview stages because they didn't have clarity as to why do they need an MBA.

Link to your interview debrief:
Interview was mostly around my short term goal and how IIMC is the best fit for me.Discussion was around my projects at PwC and my NGO work.

Did you use the help of an MBA Consultant? : Yes
Any comments, feelings, advice to share?: Sit, think and write a great essay. Don’t let admission consultants to write it for you. This process of writting your own essay will help you know yourself in a different way and present a coherent essay to the adcoms.
Use Consultants to get your essay reviewed and add their perspective.
Also a better GMAT score never hurts but that is not the only parameter that adcom see.
All the best !
Keep Hustling.

Interview was on 27th Nov 2020. Interview experience was very positive and lasted for 30 minutes. Panel had 2 professors and they were very well prepared with my application and questions were pretty much from my application , revolved around my experience , my biggest challenge , why mba now , experience in swiss etc

Did you use the help of an MBA Consultant? : IIMC Alumni helped me with interview prep and application review. Trust me alumni are very helpful , i just approached person through linkedin and he was ready to help straight away for iimc process. He took time after his work and we had mock interview pst mid night and i did not feel any tiredness in his tone or him trying to finish it soon. It went for 1.5 hours and i had my feedback by morning . Cheers to him.

Any comments, feelings, advice to share?: Honesty that’s the key .. I feel if you are called for interview then college wants to listen your story and understand why you want to spend 1 year , do you really have goal and aware why you are doing MBA. I would suggest try to tell yourself why you want to do mba now and if you can convince yourself with your story then you are halfway through..

Cheers and best of luck to all those who are travelling on this path , trust yourself and you will win.
