Hey guys, I just finished my first interview earlier this week after the interviewer came back from holidays. Overall a very positive experience. Nothing much unexpected in terms of the questions asked. If you read through previous years’ interview debriefs you’d have a pretty good idea. However, do expect a lot of situational questions linked to 4 attributes INSEAD seeks in their candidates. My interviewer printed out apparently an INSEAD guide and referred to it once in a while to make sure he covers those points. Also be sure to articulate your goals well and expect clarification questions to follow up.

Next one will be next week and after that onto the wait...

Good luck guys!

Hey guys,

I also did my first interview with my first interviewer some days earlier. Basically we just sat down and had a nice dinner together. It lasted almost 2 hours. Nothing too complicated. I guess maybe it's because we are from very similar backgrounds, so she didn't really plan to ask me a lot of the listed questions. I don't know what would the criteria for my interview be, but I enjoyed my time talking to her.

I guess every interviewer has a lot of freedom in interview styles.

Good luck for everyone!

I had a query, what materials are we supposed to share with the interviewers besides the CV? Do we share only job description essays or complete application? Would appreciate if others could share what they were asked. I have been given a confusing set of guidelines.

Thanks

Oh wow that’s very nice. My second chat will take place at a restaurant as well while the first one happened at the interviewer’s office. Good luck on your second one!

Apart from the CV, i was asked asked to send the job description pages of the application. To be honest I didn’t know how to split only hose pages off from the original PDF application we’ve got after submitting our online application. So I asked if I can just send them the whole file. My AO said if I didn’t mind, I could.

And my interviewer only has me to interview and it’s not like he or she has 1000 files to go through. So I figured more information is better than less and gave him/her even more background and context even before talking to me.

So I sent the whole file :D

Hi,

How long does it normally take for admissions officer to send the details of interviewers after interview invite?

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply Knguyen.
Hopefully they will be able to find interviewers for me soon. I am an Indian working in Algeria. My location preference for Interview is India as I doubt there are any INSEAD alumni in Algeria.

Btw, received an email about scholarship application today. The process seem to be tedious (writing essays again). But where else would we get '000$ for writing essays.

With reference to the scholarship application, can you see the form on the page once you login? All i see is a the dates and deadlines. I have already made an account but currently stuck!

Once you register and get the login details, the page will show click-options (Apply, Status and Personal profile) just above the dates and guidelines. Start with filling in Personal details. If you cant see the 3 options yet, maybe try logout and login again.

Hi Shantanu,

Jan 2017 intake forum has a list of 50 odd video interview questions. Practicing them will be helpful. Also, practice talking to a camera if you don't have that experience already. Talking to a camera is more weird than I had imagined (unless you are a youtuber). :-)

I read somewhere that in video interviews (esp. 1 min answer type), the content does not matter as much as the way you talk and present it. Being relaxed and confident is the key.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hi, I am the J-term threadmaster and posted that. In case you can't find it in there, I posted it on my blog. Wonderful applicants have been sending me new questions to add to the list - will get on that soon.
