dodoshyne my bad, I checked my mail. I submitted it on 4 March instead of 6 March. If I haven't gotten my math all wrong, submission time was 0534 AM in France (I'm at GMT+8). I'm really anxious as INSEAD is my first choice and greatest hope.

OveragedAspirant Think you can contact the AO. Though quite possible they're overwhelmed considering the admission dates for R4 2015 & R1 2016 overlap.

So damn worried about the interview!! Hope I get a call :(

At least with an interview, you know they haven't blatantly rejected your application. I am so nervous after months and months of research, planning and hard work on those essays.

To confirm - Do we have 1 interview or 2? I heard some folks only had 1 interview?

Hey All!!
Really glad to join this wonderful forum and interact with fellow aspirants. Started studying and am planning to take GMAT in 3-4 weeks time.Getting around 700 on GMAT prep. Hopefully can push it to higher 700s by next month. Wanted to know your thoughts about when to apply, R3 or R4? Does it make a big difference between R3 or R4? Are there just too few seats left in R4. I have always heard that applying earlier is better but don't want to rush the application also. My brief profile would be Indian/Male/28/ Garduated with 3.4 GPA from a premier college/ 3 year Work-Ex in Oil & Gas + 3 year as entrepreneur having started my own firm.
Any tips would be more than welcome. Cheers!!

Some more info about international exposure/motivations would help. I think general consensus is that if you are from a less competitive applicant pool, later rounds could even prove beneficial. If you're e.g. Indian, male, IT, R1 is preferable. The thing with INSEAD is that there's no one special, because they're all special, unlike US schools where you get the token international dude. :)

I've confirmed why my application was considered 'incomplete'. Apparently, one of my recommenders did not submit his letter using INSEAD's prescribed template. Hopefully this won't adversely affect my application, nor have it bumped to Round 2.

In other news, I have a business trip to Europe next week, and have managed to squeeze in time for a visit to the Fonty campus.

I'm arriving at CDG, Paris, on 27 March at 1150H. Will be renting a car to drive over to Fonty. If anyone is going to the campus at about the same time, would love to share a ride or even get a taxi together. Get in touch if you're going to the same event!

Also contemplating on whether to stay the night at Fonty or head back to Paris. My flight out to Zurich is only later, either 2050 on 28 March (Saturday) or 0745 on 29 March (Sunday). What's the scene in fonty on Friday and Saturday?

I visited Fonty. Actually you dont need any car to get there.
You need to get to Railway Terminal (pls check whether you can do that directly from CDG Airport) and then take train to Fonty. It goes there almost every hour. Please check INSEAD's web site. They train ticket will cost you 10 Euros or so. and it is 40 minutes from Paris.
When you arrive to Fonty take a bus and in 10-15 minutes you are in INSEAD. I walked and it took me 30-40 minutes.
I would say you better stay in Paris for night, it is more impresive than Fonty's forest :-D

Thanks for the advice! Seeing as I'm arriving at 1150H, with the event being at 1400H, I probably won't have time to take the train and coach.

OveragedAspirant fingers crossed. Cos I recollect the mailfrom my AO stated recommenders have till March 11. Meanwhile, the Sep'16 thread is lit, admits calls been going out all morning. Guess after Friday when R3 deadline ends, AOs would start sending out interview notifications..

Hi Guys

Just one question, wanted to know what is the relevance of the optional question. Read the forums, all of them were saying the same thing. Use it to explain a gap year or any other feature you want to talk about.

I decided not to write it, now i am worried if that will effect my application.
Some inputs would help.

Thanks

If there is anything that you absolutely feel would add to your application that was not covered in the regular essays. As long as you did not regurgitate the themes in your main essays. But if frankly there is nothing different you want to project, it would be counterproductive to write the optional essays.

I also did not write it.

Nothing yet. Maybe next week after the R3 response deadline.
