Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! Any idea how many applicants have already been offered a place in the class?

Posted from my mobile device

There should be about 60 odd folks by now in the cohort with accepted offers.

Hey Khanna!

GMAT - Great!
Age - Fits well into the average bucket at Ivey.
2nd MBA - Not sure how many people have that in the current or past cohort, but you'll have to have a very compelling reason for this. Career Jump might not be the most convincing reason for that. You might have to think through this aspect a tad bit more.

Overall, the profile looks awesome. You might need to stitch a story together for why consulting and why a 2nd MBA now. Also - Leadership is not managerial at Ivey, but more on initiatives and other pieces that you've driven. Just a thought here!

Do DM me if incase you'd have any other pressing questions. Happy to help!

Cheers.

Same here, but only later, the latest slot available to me is 31st August. Though, I saw 3 options available there MBA6, MBA7 & MBA8. Presumably, a random pick for us to choose out interviewer. What options did you guys get, to pick from?

Hello Everyone,

Anybody looking to apply in Round-5 and yet to take the GMAT.
Also, what are the chances of getting an admission if applying in R-5 looking at the huge pool of applicants this year.

Hi Utsav, Ivey technically has no definitive rounds. They evaluate applications on a rolling basis.
R5 deadline is critical for International students to give them enough time to apply and receive their study visa.

In terms of chances, Ivey usually says that an applicant is considered equally for admission and scholarships in each round.
However, I do resonate with your opinion of a huge pool of applications this year. Not sure if I can give you an estimate but others in this forum might be able to help!
Good luck with your application :)

Hey all, quick question.

I'm looking to submit my application tonight, but the downside is my boss is currently on holidays and wont be back for 3 weeks. I know Ivey wants 'completed references must be received within two weeks of your application submission date.', but how hard are they on this rule? I really don't want to wait as I know this is year is more competitive than most, want to get my application in ASAP. I have yet to ask my other reference, but I know he'll be able to get it in before the two-week deadline.

Thanks!

Hey!

Do let your Ad-Com SPOC know about the situation. They'll go through all the processes as it would. The dates for the interviews are at least 3 weeks away (Mine was 20 days, and that was in January). So this can come in after the interview too - but do let them know and keep them posted on this.

Hope this helps?

Cheers.

With the large pool of applications now, R5 from India especially might be tricky. Would suggest you try making Round 4 happen. Is the GMAT waiver extended? If yes, you could apply and finish the processes and give the GMAT at a later date.

Hi, I can confirm that the waiver is not extended.
I attended an info session ~2 weeks ago on July15th in which they confirmed that applications post R3 require a GMAT score.

Not sure if it has changed since. Hope this helps!

Hey Russthemann

Ivey is generally flexible with requirements as long as you keep them updated. Hence would suggest that you write to them explaining your situation prior to submitting the application and wait for their inputs.

Though on a personal note will recommend that you submit the application when it gets complete in all aspects or you have certainty of it being completed in couple of days. Just so that you present a complete picture to the Adcom.

Hope this helps.

Does it makes sense to apply in ROUND 4. Are their enough seat left to consider an application. Or it is going to be very tough to be considered. Last date is 18 Aug 2020, yet to start working on application.

Hey zs2,

Generally there is no downside to applying to Ivey in 4th round. They have rolling apps - and their scholarships also work pretty similarly in all rounds.
But, this year there have been a lot of competitive profiles and Ivey, like any other school, has seen a huge uptick in the applications. This situation might make it a bit more competitive to get into Ivey.

I would however suggest- talk to the Adcom. Reach out to them and get on a call and ask relevant questions around fit and applying in 4th round. If there is something in your profile that stands out, and if they haven't already seen a zs2 previously in this class, they will take you nonetheless. :)
Also, I cannot see where you belong to in your profile. If you are in the US/ Canada, it would not be a problem to apply in Round 4 at all, in terms of the seats left in the class. If you are from any other international country, you could still interact with the adcom and get a sense of whether you have a good chance this year.

Hope this helps.
All the best!
