I am curious to see what other people have found more useful regarding the verbal section on the GMAT. I have a
Magoosh account and the
GMAT Official Guide 2020, but wondering which resource has better preparation questions for the verbal section. I would love to know what you recommend, thank you!
Hello,
dleer, and welcome to the community. Yours is a question I encounter a lot as a tutor. The answer is something that lies in the middle, at least in my mind. That is, the
OG questions
cannot be beat for what rings true to the actual test. However, guidebooks and e-resources provide valuable questions that are designed to teach you strategies to apply to real questions, as well as illustrate different concepts. Thus, it is really more of a marriage of the two that brings out the best, in terms of results.
My advice: do not blow through official questions just to learn a few things along the way. Rather, you want to learn concepts/strategies elsewhere and then bring that knowledge to bear on official questions through practice sets, and later through full-length official practice tests.
Best of luck to you in your studies.
