Thanks a lot Mac.
That gives me a lot of relief!!

Also, could u guide me the procedure for the same?
Do i need to call the customer care? Or can i do it online?

I tried registering again online but it says I cant register within 31 days. Do i wait for a day or so, maybe allow their systems to refresh or something?

The proctor at the test centre gave me a number I could contact and he also submitted an incident report on my behalf.... Actually by the time I got home and opened my GMAC account, my details were already updated... I suggest you call their customer care number and let them know of your situation... They should be able to clear the matter up.. In the meantime, you could also post your concerns over here

Hope it works out well for you.. All the best.. :)

HI

i have mentioned the name in gmat which is different from passport(which needs to be changed with the help of customer care), which is again different from the education certificates. so will the universities tally the name in gmat and the name in other education certificates(which is different)?

will that be an issue at the time of admission?

Hi madgmat2019,

Depending on how big the differences in the names are - and if there is no way to 'fix' that the names on the various documents will not be an exact match - then this will probably require that you go through some extra steps when you send in your applications.

When names don't match up, the logical question for an Admissions Officer to ask would be "is this applicant the same person who took the GMAT?" In general, you don't want anyone in Admissions questioning any part of your application - BUT if you provide plenty of documentation for why the names are not an exact match, then you might be fine.

This is ultimately an Admissions question, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about this issue, your overall profile and plans. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

Hi,
In some school application, there is a place to mention other names different than your name in passport. So, technically you can use it. I hope it is just dropping middle name not a whole different issue.

Hi madgmat2019,

I think that you should call the folks in admissions at the schools to which you apply, and explain the situation.

Good luck!
