I've also been struggling with the cost of the program tbh. However, I noticed something interesting a few days ago when the US news rankings came out. Tepper has an average starting salary that is higher than every single school below it in ranking and higher than 5 schools ahead of it in ranking.
So regarding your question about ROI, it seems that the program is expensive, but salary outcomes are comparable to any top tier school.

Yeah, interesting observation, but an incomplete one (not trying to prove anyone wrong), given the context.
Tepper sends students in Technology, which pays decent. Consulting is also strong suit, also pays one of the highest salary. And places students in the areas which are expensive (in general) that means salary number is higher.
But does that translate in good ROI? Not for everyone.
ROI is more of an individual thing. Even for someone going into consulting depends where he/she ends up - NE or SE. So yeah, Tepper has higher average salary, but take it with a grain of salt.
technically, a median salary number helps better. A few outliers skews average. Schools should also publish mid 80% ranges to give us a better idea. But its marketing game!!
