Though, now that I think about it, I never received the official email from the admissions office. I checked my portal, saw what I needed to see and wasn't as concerned about getting the email anymore. Was the link supposed to be in the email? A disclosure - I do have a tendency not to see things when they're right in front of me so there's a slight chance that the FB link is the first thing listed on the acceptance page...

The link actually comes with the email.

I didn't get the FB link in either the email or portal. Someone also mentioned a welcome video and I didn't get that. It seems we are receiving different things.

I'm in without scholarship and I'm struggling to see the ROI because the program is so expensive. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

I've also been struggling with the cost of the program tbh. However, I noticed something interesting a few days ago when the US news rankings came out. Tepper has an average starting salary that is higher than every single school below it in ranking and higher than 5 schools ahead of it in ranking.

So regarding your question about ROI, it seems that the program is expensive, but salary outcomes are comparable to any top tier school.

Yeah, interesting observation, but an incomplete one (not trying to prove anyone wrong), given the context.
Tepper sends students in Technology, which pays decent. Consulting is also strong suit, also pays one of the highest salary. And places students in the areas which are expensive (in general) that means salary number is higher.
But does that translate in good ROI? Not for everyone.
ROI is more of an individual thing. Even for someone going into consulting depends where he/she ends up - NE or SE. So yeah, Tepper has higher average salary, but take it with a grain of salt.

technically, a median salary number helps better. A few outliers skews average. Schools should also publish mid 80% ranges to give us a better idea. But its marketing game!!

Agree on all points. There are tons of ways to game the system, but assuming that every school games the system to a similar degree, the average salaries can be used for comparisons, but not absolute ROI calculations. For example, NYU has the most expensive FT program out of any MBA program AND places people into more expensive regions than Tepper does. However, their average salary is only 5k more.

I haven't received any email. There was a video, the acceptance letter and the scholarship letter on the portal. I received a notification from blue dart a couple of days after the results were out that a package has been dispatched for me from Pittsburgh. No email so far. How weird is that.

Could someone pls share the link to FB group.

I sent then an email for the feedback. I received a reply within 30 seconds. Looks like they added some auto generated email for Dinged Candidates.

Here is what I received:

Thank you for your application to and continued interest in the Tepper MBA program at Carnegie Mellon University. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications we process and review, we are unable to provide individual feedback to candidates.

We will hold your application materials for one year at which time you can reapply. Often candidates can self-assess opportunities to strengthen their application by considering our recent MBA class profile and their own recent academic and professional accomplishments. If you do not have a strong mathematical background, you may want to consider completing a university-level Calculus course before you reapply in order to strengthen your application.

We hope to have the opportunity to consider your candidacy for the Tepper MBA program in the future. The application fee will be waived for those who reapply.

Please email me if I can be of additional assistance.

Best regards,

Judy

I'd at the least ask. There are many technical, legal reasons for them (any other school for that matter) to not provide details.
But what we got to lose, right? If you get correct guidance, may it be useful next time.

So I was just wondering what people thought of this math prep course. Being that it is a month long online course, does anyone have any information regarding the difficulty of the course or the pass rate?

Is this course only required by those without a quant background (business majors, engineers, etc)?

Hello all,

I have an almost the same question. Is this math prep mandatory for all students? I have a 50 quant score at GMAT but I was called to attend it.

Thank you.

Best of luck buddy...
Read somewhere that the global average of re-applicants getting dinged is 96%, so don't put all eggs in one basket next year..Always better to apply across a variety of schools...

Yes bro, I will make sure I don't apply as a re-applicant to more than 1 or 2 colleges. :)

Thanks for your suggestion. :)
