Wish someone had told me that.

That was good advice about 8 years ago. Things have been changing for the Indian Male applicants to some extent (obviously not everything is an absolute).

Well, in my case I come from a niche government sector with about 7.5 years of experience when I gave GMAT to facilitate a switch. In my first attempt got a 740, gave another in 25 days and got a 760, but lost chance for Round 1. In R2, broke my humerus into two and that put me out of TOEFL and thus many of colleges that were my fit and safe. So, I ended up with 4 rejections without interview. The process taught me a lot, but with better guidance, I probably would have made different choices.

So, I gained pretty costly experience points. B-)
