- Wharton takes the top spot at 95.50, followed by Stanford at 95.03 and Harvard at 95.01 — all three functionally tied within half a point.
- The entire M7 fits inside a 3.36-point band; Booth and Kellogg are nearly tied at the second tier, Columbia and Sloan at the third.
- Scored on a clean 0-100 scale where the score reflects the share of total available points captured, not a relative gap between schools.
- Starting compensation (salary + bonus) leads with Stanford at ~$206,200, Wharton at ~$201,900, NYU Stern at ~$201,100, and Booth at ~$201,000.

- Stanford Reclaims #1: After sharing the top spot in 2025, Stanford GSB returns to a sole #1 in 2026; Wharton drops to #2.
- Biggest Mover: NYU Stern posts the largest top-10 GMAT gain (+10 points to 733) and jumps into a tie with Columbia at #7.
- Harvard's GMAT Dip: HBS's average GMAT fell 10 points (740 → 730), reflecting a deliberate shift toward holistic review rather than declining applicant quality.
- Selectivity: Stanford's 6.8% acceptance rate remains roughly a third of the next most selective M7 school (Wharton, 18.6%). Harvard did not report an acceptance rate this cycle.
- Methodology: US News continues to weight placement outcomes (employment rates and starting salary) heavily, which is producing more ties at the top of the list (#4, #7, #11, #16, #18, #21, #23, #25 are all ties this year).

We can not explicitly state which is most reliable as each of these companies ranks business schools with its own criteria; however, for US schools, people generally tend to refer rankings published by US News, Forbes, & Economist, and for International schools, rankings of BusinessWeek, FT.

IIM Ahmedabad is ranked 30th and IIM Bangalore is ranked 36th by Financial Times 2014, which is not included in the ranking charts in the first post. The reason is FT, unlike all others, does not publish separate rankings for International schools.
Also any of IIM-A, IIM-B, and ISB, is not in the rankings of BW and Forbes.

So I was just reading through this ranking. Could someone help me with this: What is the deal with this ranking? In all other rankings (Economist, FT, USNews), the ranking are more or less similar, probably just a change of +/- 1-2 places here and there. But how do Bloomberg rankings have such huge changes for the B School? Why is that?

Survey or no, there is no "official" ranking. The list still holds.
There's Harvard and Stanford.
Then there's the rest of the M7... Wharton, Columbia, Booth, Kellogg, Sloan
Then there's the best of the rest... Haas, Tuck, Duke, Ross, Darden, Johnson
At the end of the day, you should figure out what you want to do and find the schools that fit best for you and gives you the best shot.

This, I think, is the gist of entire discussion. Rankings should be taken with a pinch of salt and one should really target the schools according to his/her profile and future goals. e.g. Check out this applicant; He had been admitted to both Wharton(with $$) and INSEAD but chose Insead over Wharton because of personal preferences. abhisheksahay

it's from unemployed MBA graduate. I may sound bitter but potential students must beware of the ranking system.my MBA school always ranked high in ASEAN region under FT and stated 98% employed within 3 month of graduation. Yes our formal (convocation) is in august, but our courses completion is on december every year. That's 11 months unemployment!! i prefer the economist survey method than FT. FT just took the data the schools provided from school website (or what I was told so) but economist really sent their surveys to the students and alumni. My school decided not to publish the economist rank since 201x because the students and our alumni put a very low ranking during their recent survey. I suggest choose schools that rank consistently across the economist and FT. whichever schools that are high in FT, and low or disappear in the economist are suspects. My careers service focuses on "helping" the employers by profiling the students resume, meaning that you can "dream" on careers switch, but they will only "promote" certain individuals they like to the employers. This is as value add services to the employer (not for the students). Student fees are only to pay for their career "tuition" fee, not to help students to find jobs (really new jargon to me). Still unemployed for 4 months and was told by the career services that they will help to find out why I am so "unsuccessful". cheers (MBA graduate from the best business school in ASEAN).

I find the widely variable rankings dizzying, so I tried to quickly simplify them. All I did was average rankings across the 5 sources (for US) and reorder. Not sure if they all "deserve" equal weight. Here it is:

Near-elite (Average rank between 7 and 12):

I wrote a post summarizing a few of the rankings:

They have very different methodologies. I am critical of US News because it so heavily weighs reputation. The ranking is slow to adjust. Yale SOM will have to take some time to climb up the ranking even though the program is much better now than it was 10 years ago and is attracting better quality students. Booth, Tuck, and Darden seem to have happy students who rate their programs favorably (not factored at all in US News). That matters more to me, personally.

I would think it's most closely related to "Management" since four of the Top 5 in that column (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg) are the top schools McKinsey, Bain, and BCG recruit at.
What about UC Davis MBA program.
US news ranking is 48 but it did not appeared in 2015 FT ranking. Although, in 2014 FT ranked it 98 and Economist ranked it 60.
Can someone through some light on UC Davis reputation & credibility in US and across the globe.

For US programs you want to look at US News as the comprehensive source of ranking and school information. They track a whole lot more than FT. On the global scale, it is a Top 100 rated program probably and in the US it is a Top 50 (ranked as #48 actually)
