Received the same and now I’m really getting anxious.

Hi guys,

I got the same mail. I just wanted to know if only we have received interview calls by now does it mean we will get admitted/waitlisted?

Thanks in advance

I’m not sure if I understand your question. If you interviewed you will get admitted, waitlisted or denied. If you did not interview you will get denied or waitlisted. You can get denied even if you interviewed

Yeah that's what I wanted to ask. Since I didn't get interviewed, I wanted to know if it mean I was rejected.

In the mail from Ross, it states that there can be 3 outcomes - accept , waitlist or deny. Hence even for those who got the mail there are chances of waitlist/ deny.

Said that, I am not sure about why you did not get the mail from Ross ( Technical problem/ or something else. )

Hello All,

I am planning to apply in Ross either in R2 this year or in R1 next year. There are few doubts which I have regarding my candidature and overall job prospects for international candidates in US.

Kindly review my profile and share your valuable inputs.

Profile: I completed my graduation in Fashion designing from one of the top 3 colleges in Asia in 2014 with a CGPA of 7.43. I have been working with the biggest apparel organization in India for past 4 years. Have a healthy work experience across 2 different roles.

Extra-curricular: I am a national level athlete and I am regularly involved in different sports.
Have also won national level quiz competitions. Have been involved with couple of NGOs during my college days.

GMAT (Oct’2017) : 700 (Q-50, V-34, IR-8, AWA-5).

Areas of interest : 1) General Management, 2) Marketing

I need your help in deciding whether I should apply in Ross with my current profile?

Also, should I target US B schools? Employment after completing MBA is an important criterion to decide which schools to apply. From few current students in US I have heard really negative reviews regarding job scenario for international MBA students in US. The situation is not bright in even top 15 colleges. Under the current geo-political situation, will it be a viable option to try for any US school?

Also, I will be looking for a scholarship. Earlier I was targeting top 15 US B schools. Though my profile is extremely unique, my GMAT score is on a lower side. Being from India would go against me. Are there any colleges in top 15 where I can expect admission with scholarship?

I am okay to give GMAT again and if required then wait for one year before applying.

Will be obliged if someone can take out time and suggest the future course of action.

Thanks for your query. It would be great if you post here.

How are you guys holding up? Man this week is SO tough. Ross had a fantastic year in terms of employment and I am getting pretty nervous. The competition at the Team Exercise event was unnerving.

I'm very nervous! The whole call approach is nice for it's personal touch, but Wednesday is going to be a tough day to sit through. And to get to 6PM with no call? That would be rough.

I have a busy day at work that day, which I think is actually for the best.

What were some of the things that impressed you about it? I'm wondering why Ross is consistently ranked around #12 or so when to me it seems more impressive than Yale. I can see Duke being ranked higher because their placement is also impressive but it doesn't seem like the rankings take into account that salaries are lower in the midwest and south because the cost of living isn't as high as NY, where everything is overpriced.

Do you think they will leave voicemails? I don't have my phone on me during working hours because of where I work. I included my work number as well, but I'm not sure they'll try reaching me on both. Just a bit curious.

I have been wondering the same thing. I think part of it might be that they are one of the most holistic schools when it comes to evaluating candidates and GPA/GMAT plays a big role in the rankings. Yale for instance is a good program but a lot of its rank comes from being a very numbers focused school, they rarely admit low gmat/gpa candidates. When it comes to rankings I feel like there isn’t a huge difference between a 1 and 2 or a 10 or 11 for this reason.
