Hello,
Thanks for posting and sharing your professional story to date. I agree that you've gained some useful experience thus far, and will bring that experience with you to the classroom, drawing from your consulting work on brand equity analysis, the learning experience of shutting down that startup, your consulting in areas related to design and sustainability, your international experiences and likely ability to work well with others from different backgrounds...your GMAT looks good, the GPA will always be a bit of a weakness. All things considered, with good essays/applications I would feel you'd be competitive at some top schools and could see globally-focused schools such as INSEAD being a good fit.
I am not sure of your definition of 'strong, very strong, competitive' etc... but will break things down best I can in my own way as this:
-Stanford-- stretch for sure (and is for most!!)
-MIT-- likely next toughest given its small class size & selectivity
--would roughly then group LBS & Haas--- still challenging but better than the above
--then NYU, then UCLA, then Judge..... I would hope for a shot at these schools
Note that I went to Judge
and not sure of your definition of a small city, but Cambridge is a university town so has a much smaller feel than London for example, just fyi! But if you are up for Cambridge I'd also look at Oxford which is strong for social enterprise/sustainability as well.
Keep me posted on further q's and good luck!!
