Hello Hello !
I would like to thank the gmatclub community for helping me go through this very challenging exam ! I don't think anyone can understand the challenges that non-native face in order to achieve a 700+ exam, specially in the verbal. For me it's a been 1-year long journey that ended on April 12th 2022 ! To this date, i still can't believe my score as i thought that i completely blow up the exam. If i can do it, anyone can do it ! Period !
I started my preparation in April 2021 by going through the
Manhattan Prep books & Gmat club quant guides. I knew that i needed to get the basics right before moving to the
OG questions since the number of official question is very limited. In June, i spent everyday practicing official verbal and quant questions and thought that i was ready to take my exam. However, my first mock up did not cross the 700 mark so I knew i needed to do something else, something different.
After discussing with a colleague who used
e-gmat, I decided t enroll for the online course in July 2021. Since i was in no rush, i decided to do diligently every single aspect of the Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning module. I have to say that the sentence correction module is enough to get anyone above 90% percentile in Sentence correction. From the grammar rules to the meaning approach, the whole module will set you up for success. The prethinking approach from the critical reasoning module was a game changer. Being able to know how the answer will look like before diving into the answers will help you not only save time but also eliminate wrong answers right away. Upon finishing the two modules, i started using cementing quizzes/custom quizzes to solidify my learnings and started doing the quant module just for practice. I was very convinced by the quant module. Even though i agree that the quant questions on the platform tend to be harder than on the exam, it is great practice that makes u improve drastically. From that point, I only practiced quant from the
egmat platform and didn't do a single
OG quant question until my exam. I landed on Q51
A month before my exam, i got the help from Rida (
egmat mentor) who guided toward success by asking me to focus on my week areas. She provided me with a daily plan on what to practices and how much accuracy i should aim for. Overall, she helped gain confidence on my ability and finally landed on 740 with Q51. Thanks Rida for the support
For the last two months i studied everyday for at least 2 hours. I think that practicing everyday is what made connect the dots. I would recommend anyone to practice everyday, even if it is for 30-45 min. It's a long journey but i can guarantee you that it is worth it !
Thank Gmatclub,
Egmat and Rida for your help ! I owe you guys a big one
