Hi Guys, I have been called for an interview on 21st Dec in Hyderabad. I would like to know your inputs on how to proceed with guesstimate questions such as,How many stars are there in the sky? Btw it would be great if anyone can share the answer for the above question also

I dont think there is "answer " to that any way. Not even the scientists will know:P. However, your approach should be logical.Lets say you break it down from small place ,your house. Assume you can see like 50 stars on a clear day. Find the approximate area of your view.Then extrapolate for the area of earth. Mind you ..you get to see a lot more stars at the poles you should take care of that. Thanks

Btw they wont ask you guesstimates unless you mentioned analytical skills as your strength or you mentioned consulting as your post job preference.

Thank you Gonnaflynow, I didn't mention either Btw I have one more query regarding the one word essay. I am not that good with vocabulary. What will happen in case I get a word for which I don't understand the meaning Will I get some info on what it means or I am screwed!

Relax...they wont ask you corner words from dictionary. Simple words only..like orange or symbolic.I dont think you would get any help on words.!!! Be confident and dont worry about petty things. The one word essay doesnt matter that much.

Typically the words are easy, but still if you do not know the meaning, you can very well take out your cell phone, open the dictionary and then check the meaning

Lolz.. yes I heard that no one really monitors you writing these 1 word essays. So you can probably ask someone nearby too. Btw, anyone got interview call today?
