Quick question -- Does Wharton require verified GMAT reports sent from GMAC prior to the application due date? Or can you self-report scores on the application and then send an official report if you're admitted?

Thanks for the help and congrats to everyone who got in R1!

Hi classicman89,

No Wharton does not require a verified GMAT report sent from GMAC prior to the application due date. You can even take the GMAT on the last date of your application deadline and you can self-report scores on the application and then send an official report when you're admitted.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Being put on the Wharton waitlist sucks. I would know. It happened to me.

It actually happened to me at HBS and Stanford as well. Around this time of year I was searching for things I could have done better: better recommenders? more work experience? a STEM degree? (so stupid for choosing the humanities!). But then when doing some work on political campaigns and researching the way candidates use personal stories to connect with voters on a powerful emotional level, I realized what I forgot to include: a compelling personal narrative.

What I did was use my waitlist letters as a second chance to introduce myself, this time using the principles of public narrative that are used by politicians -- defining what a "vote for them" really means, and making their voters feel like they are making the world a better place by mobilizing to support them. In the end, I got into all three schools!

If there is any advice I can give you it is this:
1. DO NOT STAY SILENT. You can ask the adcom (I did) and they will tell you that silence is suicide.
2. MOUNT A CAMPAIGN. Just as in politics, there are techniques for good campaigns and bad campaigns. Here are 7 Steps for Mounting an Effective Waitlist Campaign

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Or at least I asked AdComs that question and they said no. I'm not sure if they can show some discretion once the deadline actually passes.

Hi gmat7m,

Wharton rolls out interview invites on interview decision day. For round 2, the interview invites are scheduled to be released on February 8, 2018.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Anyone else have several extraneous and blank sections in their application proof? For example, my application has the "College/University #2", "College/University #3", College/University #4", College/University #5", TOEFL, PTE, and "Previous Employment" sections in my application proof, but I didn't add them and they are all blank.

Just wondering if they were added by default or if I messed something up.

Yeah, I've got a bunch of empty sections in my PDF application proof as well. Same thing also appeared with another school's application, and the first time it happened, I thought I messed up as well. But I think it's just the system that certain schools use. I definitely didn't add those in.

For me too. I think it's just the potential sections you could've used in the application, so don't stress.
