Thanks...but I was quite expecting that.. as they say that "A limited amount of outstanding applications is selected" and mine was definitely not an outstanding application. It's rather an avg. application to have a shot with.

I didn't accepted in the first round either. I applied for MSc Economics.

My profile -
GPA - 8/10 (Indian Uni)
GRE - 166Q
One research project. Two relevant Internships.

2nd round is usually tough so I'm not very hopeful. Did anyone last year got accepted in 2nd round after getting rejected in the first?

Has anyone got in SSE by early deadline?

I was also turned down yesterday.

My profile is:

Bachelor: 3.1/4.0 (Marketing major) - Top 10% of my uni. The uni is top 10-20 Australia
MBA: Distinction degree - Average UK uni - Top 500 uni worldwide

GRE: Q165 V155 AW4.0

Work experience:
- 1.5 years of entrepreneurship: Openning a small restaurant
- 1.5 years of market research: Top market research firm worldwide

I'm applying for MSc Economics. How about my chances with little Econ background? Please help!

Well, I’ve also applied for Economics by the early deadline, but have not heard anything so far. It’s killing me

I guess they’re still doing some internal rounds of selection. But I don’t know ...

Regarding your background: Did you have any courses related to Economics like Macro or Micro? If not, I think it’s really hard to get admitted.

Oh you've got a great profile. Should have been accepted. That minimum number of Eco courses might have been a reason.

This year I guess MSc Eco has become more competitive. You're the 5th applicant that I'm hearing who didn't manage to get in. Wierd this year.

If you havent heard back from them, I think you can still hope. Good luck to you!

Actually, I got Macro, Micro and Statistics in undegrad. Grades I got for them were not so bad eventually (>80/100). However, comparing to others, I guess my quantitative background is not as substantial as theirs.

Hi everyone!
I too applied for the MSc Economics programme in the early admissions round and about two days ago I received an email saying that i havent been admitted now and that they'll assess my application in the next round. I'm not feeling too optimistic but I'll just have to hold my fingers crossed.

Hi, I would like to apply too. Could anyone help to evaluate whether I have some chance for Masters in Finance?

Graduation: Engineering in a brazilian university
GMAT: 700 (Q49 V37)
GPA: 6.0/10.0 (low, I know)
Working Experience: 2 years in a BIG4 (Deloitte), currently in Financial Services Industry

Hey,

apparently their admission emails couldn't be sent to some outlook-accounts.
I've contacted them and they actually replied about half an hour ago.
"We would like to inform you that your application has not yet been selected for admissions at this point in time."

So we're back in the same boat again!

As in this whole forum just one person has been admitted, there's still hope for all of us.

Let's see!

Hey!

I will apply by the upcoming deadline on the 15th, for the Master in Finance and the Master in Accounting and Financial Management. My hopes are pretty low, but will apply anyway. This is my profile:

- 23 yo from Sweden
- BSc in Economics with a minor in Finance, from a Swedish university. Grades: ~60% Pass with distinction (my school uses grades Pass/Pass with Distinction)
- 1 exchange semester in US, grades: 4.0/A in all classes
- 8 mo work experience as an analyst in Financial Crime Prevention in one of Swedens biggest banks
- GMAT: 710 (Q47, V42)

Will retake the GMAT but won't make it in time for SSE application, will apply to other schools such as St. Gallen, Bocconi, Rotterdam etc.

Please, let me know what you think of my profile. Do you think I will be at a disadvantage for applying to two programs, instead of one?
