This didn't happen to me, but I did meet a sloan admit recently who had completed two interviews. He said the reason for the second interview was because there were technical difficulties on his interviewer's side of things. Although they completed the first interview, they felt the technical difficulties prevented them from making a fair assessment on his candidacy.

So my first question would be "was there anything weird about your first interview?"

The first interview was great. I don't understand why!
Although I wasn’t asked for a follow-up conversation on my interview at Tuck, I was asked for a 15 minute follow-up conversation at Darden. I’m thinking that it just might be because this cycle is extremely competitive this year!

Thanks for the update. How is the second conversation similar/different to the first one?

It was very similar to the first interview. The Director of Admissions just asked, “Tell me about yourself”, “Why Darden”, and we talked a bit about current events influencing business.

Did you get a feel for why they might have asked for a second interview? :)

The Director said that my interviewer was new to the department, and they just wanted to get a better understanding of my story. Darden was my first interview, and I think I came across as scripted. They may have been trying to confirm.

We also had technical issues in the beginning, so that may have been a factor as well!

Got it OptimisticPrime Thanks for the information. I guess it depends on the particular case and we cannot generalize on why the school may ask for a second interview.

A couple of questions, why is the number of applicants for round 2 about half of what is was last year?

Second, will they send out more interview invites for round 2? Or will they have done most of the invites by now?

It might just be that fewer people have uploaded their status to GMAT Club. I don’t believe that Tuck has published application data for this cycle yet, so we won’t know how many applicants there are until then.

To your second question, only the admissions committee knows if they will be sending additional invites. We can only speculate. Good luck!

Some people update their application status in the decision tracker a lot later in the application cycle. So, the last year's numbers were updated over the past 1 year but this year's Round 2 numbers are there for about a couple of months. So, I would suggest not to look too much into it :)

I agree that we can only speculate but from last year's decision tracker, I see an interview took place around March 10th. So, I will still be hopeful but it looks concerning as we are approaching the decision deadline.

Hey! Have Round 2 Tuck Applicants already started hearing back on the decisions? I saw some people updating the live decision tracker. I recall seeing an email that the decisions will be up by 5:00 PM ET on the portal. want to confirm are only those people who are getting accepted have received a phone call on the admit or everyone will know by 5 PM ET March 18? Thanks.

Since the deadline for decisions is March 18th, everyone will hear back by 5 PM ET. So far a few admissions calls have gone out as you can see from the decision tracker. You can catch all the latest updates in the Tuck chat room at the following link. All the best 👍🏻

Hi Everyone, we are doing a Live YouTube session with Tuck Admissions committee during the last week of April. We are still deciding on the topic for the session. Do you have any suggestions for the topic? Please let us know :)
