Hi everyone,

To give some context, I started preparing for gmat some months back. Improved a lot and was getting scores in the range of 740-770 (Q-49 to 51, V- 40 to 44) in last 3 official mocks, spread over the last one month.
Gave the actual gmat last week and it didn't go well for a lot of reasons. There was a lot of distractions at the center and my time management was a little off too. I got 710 (Q50, V36) which completely threw me off. (No offense to anyone, it's a great score in itself. It's just that my target schools need a higher score). ESR revealed a poor performance in CR and a mediocre performance in RC.

Anyhow, I would be giving GMAT again next month now. And I am completely out of resources (especially Verbal). I would really appreciate if anyone could help me understand what resources I could use now. Have done OGs, Reviews, Advanced, Veritas, MGMAT, Aristotle and others, and don't want to drift too far from good sources now.

Let me know if some more information is needed for you to advise me.
Thank you in advance for your help, friends and experts :)

You are almost done with the material as 710 suggests. Rather its now upto the strategy you can work upon. As you have your ESR, you know what you need to do. Take a look at GMATNinja CR videos according to your requirement.
https://gmatclub.com/forum/all-gmat-nin ... l#p2396981

They may help you with RC as well.

Lastly, a bit of luck and exceptions may have played you down. Evaluate your mocks and throughly look into CR and RC sections - as in what type of questions you got wrong and what type right. Compare it with whatever memory you can remember about actual test. It might be possible that you came across a question type in which you are weak OR in RC you got a passage type of least interest. The timing of passage also matters for example many a times if RC appears in the end of the verbal, you might not have been at your best - Check the ESR section timing and accuracy.

I can so relate to your experience. I too got 730-770 on the 6 official mocks before landing a 720 on the actual exam. xD

Given the score on your mocks, it might be worthwhile to consider the possibility that your test experience was just a one off case. Was this your first attempt at the GMAT? If yes, nervousness could have played a huge part on the score drop. Attempting the exam at the same center would help as you've been there once before so you'll likely be a lot more comfortable on your second attempt.

Unless your poor performance in CR and RC is something that you've noticed on your mocks, it may not be a cause for concern. Given that you have your ESR, I would recommend studying it in greater depth, particularly with respect to time spent per quarter and errors made, along with the type of questions you got wrong in CR/ RC. This aspect needs to be carefully looked at, as test performances often also indicate some core, fundamental issues.

I can help you out with analyzing your ESR if you feel comfortable doing so.

Manhattan is always fine to read.
For concept leaning, try to watch all videos from 'Thursdays with Ron'. You can learn so many things from there for sure!
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTQlKd ... /playlists
The best thing for SC is 'ManhattanPrep forum' (All explanation from Ron, actually)
https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/forums/

Also, you MUST read the BEST kudos post for all official SC question from gmatclub forum.

Will surely go through these. And yes, I agree, I need to devise an exhaustive strategy now. Will evaluate and keep the factors you mentioned, in mind. Thank you so much for your help! :)
