Hey Bro , Things are pretty good here! Just wrapping up festivals and going back to den again tomorrow!
Hope things are going well in Houston. We would love to understand a little more on Rice and your experience so far. Wonder if we could do an AMA with you (doesn’t need to be live but you answer whenever you are available)
Was anxious if it’s a ding from Rice but hen I emailed Joe Sato and he affirms that they will continue to interview through November and December so it’s not a ding till it;s a ding!

QuabityAssuranceHow are things?
Posted from my mobile device Happy to do an AMA! But experience hasn’t been good here. I’m more of a person who strives to get better results and put in efforts, I’ve won many competitions here for that reason!
But I don’t see the investment pay off well. I think it’s god’s way of making me work in low performing teams and probably get them into an achievement mindset.
One of the asso. Deans even said that I’m right but I need to approach it differently because people don’t want to strive for excellence (too much to ask for from a "prestigious" institution).
Yes, the overall experience has been horrible with no room for inclusion (very little if I’m being more lax). But it does make me appreciate schools like HBS more bcoz having a culture of excellence and producing high performing individuals is a priority.
I do like a few people here who have been very helpful in many things.
One of the teachers is really amazing as she’s very kind and not just normal kind- she’s out of the way kind. Very understanding and appreciative of your struggle.
Then there’s another professor who is basically in an ultimate need to be appreciated more often. She has been known to explode on people on multiple occasions and accomodating of the fact that they (students) have interviews by giving people an impossible choice (this is not just her but many people at Rice)
I don’t see people here as any asset but I’ve met a few (3 to be specific) strong people both in terms of network and in terms of start-up founders. I’m very good friends with the winner of Napier Rice Launch Challenge. He’s an awesome person and I see why he can be a winner!
I’m great friends with PMBAs bcoz I like their maturity level and drive than FTMBAs
I know my AMA would be very realistic but I’m happy to give time. Just can’t lie about my over-all experience like most other people.
I really wish someone would’ve warned me about the low quality of Rice MBA students.
Having said that, I like the 2nd years better (most of them are empathetic and helpful)
