The main Anderson '18 thread has tons of experience recaps in them, give it a read! Good luck!

Can any current students chime in on the quarterly cost of G-SHIP (student health insurance)? Just curious.

It's a little over $1100 per quarter this year. I'm a FEMBA student but I doubt it is different.

Anyone know if any Anderson students ever buy a condo for school? I don't know anything about the housing market there, but in my current city, I bought a place two years ago and it is now worth significantly more than I paid, so I'm considering looking into it in L.A. Obviously, everything is insanely expensive there, so it'd likely have to be a studio, not a house. I'd like to buy in the Culver City, Santa Monica, Venice area. Close to campus but more interesting basically.

I have never heard of just buying a studio. Studios to my knowledge only exist as a rental option in apartment complexes. And yes you're correct, the real estate market is very expensive especially near the UCLA area.

Anyone on the R1 waitlist who was either admitted or dinged in the past couple of weeks? Seems like they just kept all of the R1 waitlist applicants on the waitlist through R2 and into R3.

I am a dual degree student starting in the MBA this fall. I live in university family housing now and it's a really good deal - 2 bedroom for $1532. It's an easy 20-30 min bus ride to campus. You don't have to have kids or be married to qualify for family housing, but you do need to have proof of relationship - a previous lease agreement works. If you're interested in family housing, the waitlist is long so I'd recommend getting on it as soon as possible.

All international students (those in the U.S. on an F-1 visa) will be required to attend International Student Orientation beginning on July 25. Orientation will begin on August 1 and extend through September 20 for all incoming MBA students.
