Hi , I attempted Gmat prep practice cat -3 and performed horribly in VA(28). I went with the mindset of doing well in first 10 questions( Saw few simulations run by gmatclub member and they were rooting for this to work ) really well. However it didn't turn out a good strategy for me. Below is the split .
Q 1-13 C- 12 W -1
Q 14 - 29 C - 10 W- 6 ( No string of wrong answers involved more than 2 questions )
Q 30 - 39 C- 3 W - 7 ( Ran out of time and had to guess on a lot of questions ) - This looks to be a cause of poor score .
Q 40 , 41 Left unattempted.
I scored V31 & 36 in my previous two GMP practice cats and worked really hard to improve on my weak areas. TBH before the test I was feeling very confident of doing well in VA and was expecting to score around 40. However seeing this score which much worse than my previous scores I am feeling a bit demotivated. Also , I am writing GMAT in Sep last last week and hence have only so many days to improve. On Quants I am doing decent enough , have been scoring 49-50 in all the CATS. But with this sort of performance in VA even Q51 will amount to nothing.
Could you guys help me understand my mistakes ? Where did I lose it totally ? Or is there something I did horribly wrong. ?
I think you have missed the timing here. Your last 12 questions had 9 incorrect answers. GMAT punishes heavily if you missed to answer any question. Work on your timing.
Best strategy, if you are running out of time, get one question correct and guess the next one. And repeat the same. Never leave any questions unanswered.
