I'm retaking the GMAT this week and have an invitation from GMAC to try their exclusive pilot program.
I'm definitely going to select AWA as the last section and IR as the third.
But I am still confused about what section I should answer first - Verbal/Quant?
I'm not particularly strong in Verbal or Quant. Last time I got Q48V40.
I've noticed that both of them need you to have a fresh mind. What do you think is the best section order and why?

With a 720/Q48/V40, referring to any of those scores as "not particularly strong" sounds silly. You're already performing at a really high level (above the 90th percentile overall), so you really shouldn't overthink whether to take Quant first or Verbal first. If you're looking to score higher in Quant though, then you should probably take that section first. On your first attempt at the GMAT, you took the Quant after taking the Orientation/Essay/IR/Break - which was about 75 minutes. If you take the Verbal section first (and the break), then that will be a little more than 75 minutes... and then you'll take the Quant. It might be that the first 75 minutes of activity tired you out just enough that you missed a few questions in the Quant section.
