Hi All,
Hope everyone is doing well in their GMAT preparation journey.
I had started my preparation in November last week where I had given my first GMAT mock test with no prep on the official site. After the test, I started practicing quant questions from the OG and referred to various sources such as youtube, books, and online forums for my Verbal Prep (SC Only). Today I gave my second mock test on Veritas Prep. Following are the scores for both tests.
1st Practice Test (Official):580 (Q43, V26, IR2), Did not attempt AWA.
2nd Practice Test (Vertias): 570 (Q46, V22, IR5), I attempted AWA but did not receive any score, the site was mentioning N/A.
Between the tests, I used to study for 1-2 hours (though planned 4hrs for it) not regularly, I could improve my Quant score by 3points while some of the questions got wrong due to some silly mistakes or incorrect interpretation of the question, but I think with a lot more practice I can improve my QUant score by few more points.
My main concern now is verbal, it is becoming a nightmare for me, moreover, the 2nd exams score V22 was by luck (or by fluke) as I was not confident on the options when I was marking them. For the last few days, I have viewed Wizako's SC course available on youtube but I was able to understand all of it. After that, I started using Manhattan SC Book 6th Edition which is quite good but I am still finding some of the topics hard to understand such as how to identify present continuous/present participle. My problem with verbal is that I am unable to comprehend most of the sentences/passage as the topics are not much familiar to me, the topics which are familiar to me I do understand the text but still struggle with some of the questions. I know topic familiarity is not needed in GMAT but reading familiar topics are a little easier than unfamiliar ones. I am planning to enroll in a verbal course but I am not confident whether it will help me or not as my fear of verbal is increasing day by day. Additionally in SC, I am having a hard time identifying the subject and the verb as most of the sentences have multiple nouns and verbs.
I am planning to give my main GMAT in April 2021 and I am targetting 710+ (ISB-India), till the time I have I will not be able to study for 2-3 weeks in Jan as I am relocating to a different city. Also, I am planning to give 1 mock test every week.
I request all GMAT Experts, can you please
