Hi everyone
I am so happy and excited to be here! My name is Shimri Winters and I head the strategy here at ARINGO MBA Admissions Consulting

A bit about me. I hold a BA in Computer Science and worked as a software programmer for a big I. T company. After my London Business School MBA, I worked in consulting, moved to some senior business development roles.
In parallel, I helped LBS interview 10s of MBA candidates for almost 7 years.

Hi please evaluate my profile for Olin , Tepper , Rotman , Simon , Goizueta . Planning to apply for 2022 intake

I have a GMAT Score of 720 (Q49 V39 IR4)

I have done my graduation ( B.E - Electronics and Communication Engineering ) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, India with a CGPA of 9.04/10 (90.4%) . Also I have been a 2 time merit scholarship holder (2 consecutive years ) in my college .

My 10th class CGPA has been 10 CGPA (95 %) and 12th class percentage has been 91.8%

I have worked for 2 clubs in my college -:

1) Cultural club in which I was a part of the event organizing team and played a role of a cultural head i.e talking to the managers of renowned musicians and sufi artists , planning out the cultural events etc.

2) Science & Maths Club - Here I was a part of their management team wherein I helped them organize several fun maths & science challenges.

I have worked for 2 NGO’s as well -:

One was a Wildlife conservation NGO wherein I was a part of the team which rescued animals on road which were hurt ( due to accidents with cars etc.)

Second was an NGO wherein I taught underprivileged kids and helped them gather resources such as school books , school bags etc.

I have been in ZS for the past 12 months.
In ZS, I have been working closely with a US pharma client and i handle their sales incentive compensation and goal setting . I analyze extensive retail and outlet level sales data to create useful insights and also do call planning for field reps to optimize customer reach . I have also provided ad hoc analytical support for clients to help cater to varying demands from field representatives.
Working at ZS has led me learning about a lot of new dimensions of how the industry works , also analyzing the real sales data helps understanding the different areas where things can be improved to get better profits for the company .

This all has led me to derive insights and look in those directions which are generally ignored by us.

You have a great profile.
On the good side:
- Education – seems great! wondering what place in the class you are, but 2 merits = very high..
- Extra curriculars – great! MBA programs like interesting people (So not just school and work)
- GMAT is fine for these schools! (a bit above the schools’ averages)
- Very realistic school list!

On the less good side
- Work experience is low. School tend to see a minimum of 2 years experience but they usually want 3+ years, and you will have 2 and a bit…
- No international experience
- No promotions
- No managerial experience

You have a good profile and a reasonable chance, how do you improve it?
a. write stellar applications (happy to help with that 😊 )
b. OR consider waiting another year, geta promotion at ZS, and then apply

your call!

Hi, not at all
There are "5 types" of MBA programs
- "Regular MBAs" 1-2 years, full time, for candidates with 4-6 years of experience on average
- "EMBAs" - Part time programs. in the US once a week, in other places once every 2 or 4 weeks (LBS or INSEAD for example) for candidates with 8+ years of experience
- "Part time" - once a week in the US
- "Online" well, online
The 5th are called "Sloan Programs" and these are full time 1 year programs for experienced candidates (so let’s call them "full time EMBAs"). Programs like MIT Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx, USC Ibear, LBS Sloan program. You can read more about these here:https://www.aringo.com/mba-over-30/

So, not many top US MBA programs offer 1Y programs. you can see the full list of 1Y-1.5Y top MBA programs here: HTTPs://www.aringo.com/mba-1y-one-year-programs/
Is it worth it? well, it is faster and more intense. Also, these programs do not have a summer internship, so it depends on your confidence in finding a job post-MBA without an internship
