parallelism is correct as is

(B) supercomputer that could eventually have the capability of completing one quintillion operations per second and to help.............could and capability both are not needed one is enough and also to help is not parallel with remaining structure

(C) supercomputer, eventually able to complete one quintillion operations per second, and helping...........helping is not parallel to structure and able to is incorrect here.

(D) supercomputer, and it eventually could complete one quintillion operations per second and helping......it is referring to testing not computer and helping error is repeated

(E) supercomputer, and it could eventually have the capability to complete one quintillion operations per second and help......it is referring to testing not computer

(A) supercomputer that could eventually complete one quintillion operations per second and help

The correct answer: “complete” and “help” are parallel verbs. “could” is simple and easy.

(B) supercomputer that could eventually have the capability of completing one quintillion operations per second and to help

“capability of” is unidiomatic. “to help” is not parallel to “of completing”.

(C) supercomputer, eventually able to complete one quintillion operations per second, and helping

“and helping” is not parallel to “to complete”

(D) supercomputer, and it eventually could complete one quintillion operations per second and helping

“and helping” is not parallel to “could complete”


(E) supercomputer, and it could eventually have the capability to complete one quintillion operations per second and help

“capability to complete” can simply be “could”. “help” is parallel to “complete” and thus changes intended meaning, as “capability to help”.

Both features of supercomputer – “to complete one quintillion operations per second” and “to help” are expressed clearly and are parallel

(B) supercomputer that could eventually have the capability of completing one quintillion operations per second and to help – INCORRECT

Parallelism error – “to help” is not parallel to “eventually have the capability..” in the list beginning with “that could” as common term
Quality error – “have the capability to complete” is unnecessarily wordy. Same idea can be expressed succinctly by saying “it could eventually complete”

(C) supercomputer, eventually able to complete one quintillion operations per second, and helping – INCORRECT

Construction error – comma + and is used to connect two independent clause. Here “comma + helping” is not an IC but a verb-ing modifier
