Hi,

I always get confused between the following.

XYZ, one of the greatest.....
XYZ, who was one of the greatest ......
XYZ is one of the greatest.

For eg:
Daniel Bernoulli, one/who was/is one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics dedicated his life to pioneering work in astronomy and mathematical physics.

Given Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest..... is CORRECT, but I want to know why the rests are wrong and when to use them.
