Hi everyone,
I have a general CR question. I've heard that one way to answer CR questions faster is to read the story and before looking at the choices, thinking of the possible solution. But how do you do that? For example, on Strengthen CR questions, my answer always tends to be different from the choices that are listed?
Any advice? I've read the Manhattan CR book but it doesn't really talk about this strategy.

Please try reading Powerscore if you have sufficient time.
The whole idea is not to get the exact answer as you see in options.
This term is called paraphrasing or prethinking before you jump into the options.
This way we tend to to the details of the argument clearly and know what to do .This saves us from getting lost
by reading the options (because we are able to stick to the stimulus)
So this helps and his is a good practice.

There are multiple ways to go about answering CR questions. Some people like to prephrase answers. This strategy is sometimes built on the assumption that without prephrasing, a person won't pay attention to or keep straight the details of the passages in CR questions. If you can keep the details of the passages straight, there is no need for prephrasing, and it can hurt more than it helps, as it takes time, can be distracting, and may tempt you to choose an incorrect answer because it sounds like your prephrased answer.
The foundation of correctly answering CR questions is completely understanding the passages and noticing any key details contained in the passages. If you can do that consistently without prephrasing, then there is no need to prephrase.
