To know the area we need to find the radius.
We'll look for a statement that gives us information, a Logical approach.

(1) This tells us that the hypotenuse of the triangle is also the circle's diameter (remember that a segment facing a 90 degree angle is always the diameter).
But with no actual numbers this does not help.
Insufficient.

(2) Without any knowledge on the third side or the angles between the sides, this is also unhelpful.
Insufficient.

Combined: Two of our triangle's sides are 6 and 8. But are they the legs of the triangle or one leg and one hypotenuse?
Still insufficient.

(E) is our answer.

This question tries to trick the inattentive test taker who thinks that a right triangle with sides 6 and 8 can only be a 6:8:10 (3:4:5) triangle.

But there are two different right triangle with sides 6 and 8. There are the 6:8:10 and the 6:2√7:8.
