Question: the value of $$n + p$$?

Statement 1: $$m = 4 - q$$

i.e. $$m + q = 4$$

NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: $$mn + pq + mp + nq = 6$$

i.e. $$(n+p)(m+q) = 6$$

NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining the two statements

$$(n+p)(m+q) = 6$$ and $$m + q = 4$$

i.e. $$n+p = 6/4 = 3/2$$

SUFFICIENT
