EGMAT Verbal live Prep: Finding order in chaos

After struggling with other competitive exams in India, i realised i was not doing so well in Quant sections of these exams. But there was a pattern, i did exceptionally well in Verbal part. So I did my research and planned to appear for GMAT, after a good work experience.

Like everybody i did the Official guides and attempted 2 mocks and appeared for the exam, to my horror i scored too low in the Verbal section. I took some advice from friends and tried all sorts of ways to get better in Verbal. I struggled for an year with the right material and was in desperate need for help. I researched even more, and bought some international prep material, which proved to be of little help. I was struggling with the preparation and my recently changed job profile made it worse.

I came across EGMAT Verbal live course, i liked the approach, the course streamlines all the grammar topics, categorizes the critical reasoning questions and helps with Reading comprehension on a much deeper level of insight. I made comprehensive notes, excel sheets of each topic capturing the gist and errors.
Approach is the key here, there is no point practicing questions without observing the pattern and pre-thinking (linking facts and anticipating results). Here the course structure comes in handy.
The Live sessions not only help you to get in touch with the faculty but also clear the air regarding strategies.

Finally, i would like to point out that my accuracy rate was high but my time strategy was weak, i was not able to reach the end of the verbal section. Here prethinking comes into the picture, now i am able to finish the section with great confidence. In terms of scores, i scored V19 in the verbal (official figure), now in mocks (which are fairly true reflection of final score) i am consistently scoring in the range of 32-38 (To me that is huge). I have booked a date and will soon share the final numbers.

I would definitely recommend this course especially to those who have wasted their time and money in other sources and failed to get results.

Thank you so much guys, now i feel more confident and better prepared.

Scholaranium is a great help while practicing questions efficiently. Instead of just practicing random question, Scholaranium allows me to focus on my weak areas. I take a diagnostic tests and receive detailed analysis of it. Based on this analysis, I choose my practice questions from scholaranium. I continue to practice that sub section questions until I hit my target score in that sub-section. Then I retake the diagnostic tests and follow this approach to the next weaker area. Its important for me to get continuous feedback while practicing questions. This feedback enables me to focus my efforts towards the areas where I will benefit most by improving; Scholaranium is just the right tool for this purpose.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the team members of e-GMAT team for offering Quant Live Prep course.
I started the journey early this year and was pretty much confident on Q. I was spending my time (whatever available- 5-10 hrs a week) on V, as I was very confident on Q part. I took my first mock after booking my exam date with GMAC and just managed to receive Q39. I decided to go through the Q-course as I had realized If I cannot make my Q –score count, I really donot have a chance in the exam.
I have gone through each concept files and all the practice questions. All the pieces were great. In each of the concept files they have gone through all the ‘necessary’ pieces, and more importantly nothing was over or under done.
I was quite amazed with their structured approach of solving the DS problems. At least for me at the later stage of preparation and in the exam it saved some 30-50 s /question on the same type of problems.
Last but not the least the live sessions are exceptional. It gives a real time experience of the exam. The instructors and their real analysis are very good. And the most important were the queries from the other students. Those are really varied and if followed & analyzed carefully, would definitely help to clear the concept.
I really owe my 10 pt improvement in Q to Quant Live Prep course.
This course is highly recommended for all the students, even if you are aspiring for the stars in Gmat Q.
Thanks Again.

Verba solution for Non natives

I am a non native GMAT aspirant who has an art background and weak in both the section of gmat. i started my gmat preparation 8 months back. I remember i used to struggle a lot in verbal section, be it sentence correction , critical reasoning or RC ;all used to give me hard time. It made me lose hope for a good score in GMAT exam. I didn’t know how i should improve my knowledge in both the section especially for verbal. I never used to pick right answer for right reasons and always believe in those options which sounded correct to my ears and wasn't bothered about subject verb, modifiers, idioms etc.i referred many books with thousands of grammar rules which was impossible for me to remember. Same with Quant books, many formulae and concepts.i wasn’t sure what to read and what not. I couldn’t filter myself .
Luckily i shared this problem to one my friend ,he suggested to join Egmat. I searched about it and went through the trial videos and some other. I found it best suitable for me. As it audio video option helped me to understand the concepts well. i joined the EGMAT-live prep course. Which consist both verbal and quant sections. The course is very comprehensive and holistic in nature. The concepts are taught in a very simplistic manner and the quizzes are very helpful to understand how the concepts are tested.
when i compare the results of no. Of questions i used to correct during the initial time of preparation and today, there is a huge difference. I have improved a lot.
The best part of the program is the Scholaranium. It has question ranging from easy to hard topic and one can easily refresh the entire course through them.Further ,it helps one to understand one's strength and weakness.
I am Planning to take my GMAT test after weeks and i hope i would score my target score.

I would like to thank Egmat and its team and hopefully these concepts learned from e-gmat will help achieving my target score .
I Would Definitely Recommend E GMAT live prep Course to anyone who is non native and looking to improve his GMAT score.
Thanks,
Lok

How I enhanced my Verbal score from V27 to V38 (V40 updated) !

First time I had to face GMAT was in December 2016. Because of the illness I was left with only 2 weeks for practicing before the exam day. I was always good at Math, but the Verbal part seemed too challenging for me to handle. Nevertheless, I pushed myself to the limit during those 2 weeks and at the day of the exam saw a moderate score on the screen – 640 (Q49, V27). I applied to some MBA programs, but the ones I chose were too good to grant a place to a guy with such a score.
After this failure, I realized that if I want to score 700+, I need to improve my Verbal skills. I surfed the Internet and found out that a bunch of test-takers recommended that e-GMAT program be taken in order to hone one’s abilities to solve verbal questions, especially SC problems. So I enrolled.
I took the Verbal Live Prep course. I was provided with a list of materials that I needed to learn each day and instructed when and how to participate in online classes, which, by the way, are free of charge.
Firstly, I started the SC course, which helped me to brush up my knowledge of English grammar as well as to learn new things that are crucial for mastering SC questions. Most of all I liked the way in which the course is organized: first the concept of each theme is thoroughly explained with the use of video materials, than subject related tests are provided. Also, respective OG questions and answers are provided. The way in which e-GMAT team provides knowledge helped me increase the accuracy of solving SC questions up to 84 % from 50 % in about 3 weeks.
After finishing the SC course I started to practice the Critical Reasoning (CR). I easily handled this course with the help of both e-GMAT video lessons and Manhattan Prep’s study book. The only thing that I can say is that both materials helped me a lot by providing slightly different techniques of problem solving. I just want to mention that e-GMAT also has Q&A, which was very useful in many cases. When I finished the CR course the number of wrong answers decreased to about 13-15 %.
My last section was Reading Comprehension (RC). The best thing I liked in it is that e-GMAT team really tried its best to make RC questions the easiest ones to solve. Before the course I did not like RC part, as I thought of it as the toughest one. However, with the help of e-GMAT lessons now I know how to answer different types of RC questions without wasting time. Moreover, the course provides tips that help to stay interested and focused whether or not a test taker likes the topic.
A week ago I took my first mock test in GMAT PREP app and guess my happiness when I saw the result of all this learning – a 720 score. My Quant score was 50, and the Verbal one was 38 ! I plan to take another exam at the end of August and this time I aim at 740. Thanks to e-GMAT, the score that once seemed unreachable is closer than ever before !

UPDATE
3 weeks after I wrote this review I took my GMAT exam. My score was exactly 740 (Q50, V40) !

i was recommended this course by my gmat guidance counsellor. initially i had no great expectations from this course but i was wrong. this concept of videos followed by short and long exercises is a great idea and is really intuitive and helpful. my sentence correction skills were greatly improved after i finished the SC module as i have reduced using intuition and increased using logic.
For individuals who want to improvise their quant skills, this course has explained everything gmat requires right from what are whole numbers to complex word problems. There is an IR module also available unlike other online courses i have taken which helps understanding the level and type of questions.
this is a highly recommended online prep course for somebody who requires a strong basics foundation and are looking further to advance their respective skill sets.

this is clearly not a crash course and does take considerable amount of time advised by the study planner to complete. but once completed there is no looking back as the concept of video slides and animation does leave a mark in your mind.
all the modules have been properly arranged and necessary instruction videos have been setup for an easy learning process.
the study plan is designed keeping a beginner in mind which is great as it helps asses ones skill set and capacity.

I'm an Indian with engineering background. I've been preparing for GMAT since last couple of months and have created my detailed error log. Being a non-native speaker, Verbal section has not been my cup of tea. Although I've improved my accuracy level to a significant level, my pace in this section was a road-block for a 730+ score. During my preparation I got to know about e-GMAT verbal course. I was looking for material which can help me with my pace. And it turns out I've found a gold mine.

I love the way e-GMAT Scholaranium has been designed. Customized practice tests are excellent both in terms of quality of the material and quantity. Question are optimized to make the candidate be extra-ready for the exam level questions. From the day I started practicing on e-GMAT Scholaranium, I developed a habit of taking a 10 CR, 10 SC, 4 RC test for sure! I witnesses a huge impact both in terms of accuracy and speed. I have been able to improve my overall accuracy from 40% to 87%. Answer explanations are also great which helped me in areas where I was making repeated mistakes.

SC and CR techniques have been explained with extreme clarity, making them super easy to grasp. Special thanks for "pre-thinking" technique in CR.

Again, Verbal Scholaranium is a great package for someone who wants to give finishing touch to his or her preparation. It is a great tool through which you can take 'Verbal Ability' tests to identify you weak areas and then selectively work on them using e-GMAT's 'custom quiz' option. Once you have mastered those areas you can again take an 'ability quiz' to gauge your progress. In total Scholaranium has a total of close to 750 questions from which you can take customized quizzes.

Thank you e-GMAT once again and I highly recommend e-GMAT to everyone who's struggling in verbal section.

All the best to you all!!

I have not had too many issues with quant but despite considering myself good at English, I struggled in the verbal section, which was clearly visible from my first GMAT mock test and subsequent practice tests. Everyone kept on mentioning that SC is the key to a good verbal score but I was unable to make sense of it after reading books. After reading reviews of e-gmat from gmat club members and signed up for the verbal online course. I found their approach very innovative but most importantly structured. I think that resonated with me the most. The idea of application files and concept files is also equally innovative and helps grasp the crux of the SC approach easily. With a whole host of practice sentences and their detailed analysis especially simulating a class enviroment, the mind automatically gets wired to approach SC questions. All this helped me in bringing down my timing from around 3 plus minutes to 1-1.5 mins. The other section that really helped was the CR section. The concept of prethinking seemed very obvious to me but the application was just as difficult. However, adopting the step-by-step e-gmat strategy I was able to get to a proper structured approach to CR questions. What I found excellent were the solutions to the OG questions, which I think gave me a confidence boost.

However, last but not the least, I am impressed with the scholaranium platform. I think it is a collection of really good GMAT questions and helps you guage your performance. Especially because it becomes really hard to find the right quality of questions outside the OG.

My verbal score on my mocks is now around 40 vs 33 earlier and I highly recommend e-gmat to others on the same gmat journey.

I expanded my E-gmat course till the real exam. E-gmat has some discounts for expantion. E-gmat asked me to provide an evidence of GMAT exam registration to be reimbursed. After sending them my registration data the E-gmat promised my to reimbursed in 7-10 days. But I haven't seen any money on my account! I have asked several times about the money, but received empty promises...NEVER buy any course from this fraud company. I don't understand how it is possible to have such a fraud company on gmatclub... I will never advise this terrible company to somebody...I hope that e-gmat lost all their clients.

Hello,

I am primarily working with the egmat course along with Official guide books.I am a non native speaker and verbal especially SC has always been very difficult for me to master.
This would be my third and FINAL attempt at GMAT and the reason for retaking is a very low verbal score.
I like the animated videos of egmat, I am just working with the SC course right now, and whatever I have seen so far, I really like the way the content is presented.
The pre- quiz to evaluate where I stand, followed by concepts and then a post assessment, really helps me structure my preparation.
While starting out the prep, I was very bad at SC but I am seeing that my accuracy has picked up. I hope to do even better now that I have a structured course , after completing the entire coursework.
I would recommend egmat to anyone looking to improve their GMAT score.
