The former dean of Northwestern Kellogg, Dipak C. Jain, has just been appointed dean of the international business school, INSEAD. He will take his post in 2011 when current dean, J. Frank Brown, steps down.
Dean Jain, an Indian-born American citizen, was dean of Kellogg from 2001 to 2009. According to Franz Humer, chairman of the INSEAD board, "The Board chose Dipak Jain to lead INSEAD into what is fast becoming a new global economic climate – one in which emerging markets are growing at a faster rate than the industrialised mature economies of Europe and North America. In this environment we need to teach solid business and management skills while being innovative, entrepreneurial and instilling a culture of true sustainability.”
Dean Jain will be entering the INSEAD community at a time of advanced global efforts – the business school has campuses in France, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi, and a research center in Israel. It's 145 faculty members hail from 36 countries and instruct students from all over the world in MBA, EMBA, and Ph.D. programs.
